I noticed that the windows were showing some condensation, so I pulled the dryer out and saw that the vent had come undone. I replaced the vent and also removed a lot of accumulated lint.
When I hooked the machine back together and ran it, it began making a rhythmic rattling sound, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat. The vent connection is fine. It seems to be drying the clothes OK, but I wonder whether I jogged something loose when I was repairing the vent connection.

Most dryers have a vent hose, about 4" across on the back. Normally, this is connected to a pipe that goes outside to vent the steam that comes from drying your clothes. A very few dryers use cold tap water to condense the steam, and then it runs down the drain. I don't know if they still make these, it's been 50 years since I saw one.
I guess I wasnt clear enough. The dryer works ok, except for the rattling sound now. It will start when i push the start button, it heats, and dries the clothes. Just noisy where before the flow sensor went off, it was pretty quiet.
Awful noise that sounds like its out off balance comes when the belt is either broken or worn out and needs replacement. If you want to do this yourself then you can check this video on youtube:
One of the compressor springs inside is weak and allows the motor to move sideways and hit the shell that covers it. This condition can be annoying but will not affect the longevity of motor. If you place a shim under the motor opposite the bad spring you may minimize the noise
If you can open the walls of the dryer up check all screws and bolts that hold things together. Some times they will vibrate loose causing parts to make a vibrating sound against the frame itself.. Eventually the loose screws will just keep getting looser. Even the screws on the walls of the unit should be tightened That could cause a lot of noise.
My suspicion is that the damper on the dryer vent is not completely closing, allowing the cold air to pass into the house. Also check to see if the vent hose is sealed to the vent with duct tape or steel tape.
If the panel's clamps are broken it will rattle, for a quick fix i would use duck tape on both sides.
Hope this helped.Let me know by rating me or for more help go to live chat. Thanks Len West
May want to check your venting system to the outside. If the dryer cannot blow out enough heat outside due to the vent being clogged or kinked, then it will overheat causing panels and moving parts inside the dryer to get too hot and rattle.
