Question about Sony Grand WEGA KF50WE610 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
In this model 3 blinks usually means "lamp door not properly closed".
You need to get at the door and examine it--some of these had problems where the door warps from the heat from the lamp.
On the back side of the door is a small plastic peg--when the door is in place it engages a plastic lever and switch---it is there to prevent the set from being operated with the door removed.
If you find the door is warped you can prove if this is your problem by engaging the lever with something not metal---plastic or even a wood match stick--
With the lever engaged turn the set on--if it works you need to replace the door--I can look up a part number for it if you need it---quickest way to get one is on Ebay.
If the set works with the door removed, DO NOT PUT THE LARGE FRONT PLASTIC GRILL IN FRONT OF IT BACK IF YOU OPERATE THE SET THIS WAY--IT CAN BE MELTED.
IT IS DANGEROUS TO OPERATE THE SET AS THE LAMP WILL BE VISABLE AND IS VERY BRIGHT.
LET ME KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.
