A problem has been detected internal to the unit and it has been shutdown to prevent further damage. The typical cuase is shorted output transistors or a defective voltage amplifier IC. Either repair will run about $25-$40 for parts.

I have sony radio.but now is display flashing protector and I cant play anything ,how I can solve this plobleme

Disconnect the receiver for at least 30 seconds..Disconnect all speakers.inspdct each speaker cable and make sure all wires are twisted tight.one little wire sticking out can make bad contact with unit.turn on reciver..hook up front speaker wires and then one at a time hook the rest up.hooking them up one at a time will show and tell if you have a bad external speaker or wire problem causing your receiver to go into surgery protection mode.thats why it is important to twist your speakers cords up properly inspecting each one.
You can run your receiver a fourth of max volume for 20-30 minutes to warm up checking each connection.

My sony receiver STR-DE135 is showing a protector message

Check for shorted speaker cables, or even a bad speaker. I'd start by disconnecting all speakers, see if the indicator goes out. If so, try one speaker at a time until you find which channel is bad, and then examine the cables carefully for things like a stray wire strand. Less likely, but possible is a shorted speaker. If you disconnect them all, and still have the protector circuit on, it's an internal issue, and you're going to need a technician.

Sony STR-DA3000ES PROTECTOR - CHECK CODE 11

There is a defect in the final amplification stage of the receiver. This may have been caused by a short in the speaker wires. The typical defective parts are the output transistors. Expect a parts cost in the $40 range for this repair. Any audio service shop should be able to repair this.

Protet mode is a special diagnostic mode that starts when a fault is detected.

When in protection mode the unit is prevented from starting by protection circuit, so to prevent further damage.

Check the speakers and speakers wiring, a contact in speaker wires, or faulty speakers can send the unit in protection.

Try unplugging power cable for one hour or so. then connect cable back and see if you get rid of protect state. Sometimes accumulation of electrostatic charges inside circuit capacitors can kick in protect mode. In that case unplugging the unit from main for some times can get rid of electrostatic charges, and reset circuits by draining power completely.
If that was the problem, you will not get Protect when plugging back power cable.

If you do all the above and still get Protect, then there is a real fault.

In that case the unit may be disassembled and tested to find the fault.

If that is the case I suggest contacting the manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual, or asking a quote on repair to a local technician.

Whenever a little bass sound - explosions, gunfire, helicopter blades, etc., ''PROTECTOR'' flashes on LED and shuts down receiver. Seems to happen more frequently lately. Subwoofer cable sturdy, no...

The protection feature on these units will shut off the receiver when there is too much power draw or when a speaker wire is touching another wire. First, check all of your speaker connections and make sure the wires are nicely twisted and inserted into the speaker and receiver with no stray wires touching. Secondly, if this doesn't correct the problem, try going into your speaker settings menu on your receiver and select "small" for each speaker. Let your sub handle the bass. The sub cable should have no effect on the protection feature of the receiver. The speaker wires, however, are the most common culprit of a receiver turning off (protector). Hope this helps.

Protector

If you took all the speakers off the reciver then it still goes into protect, the reciver detects DC on the output lines. That means there is a short in the output stage of the amp. It could be an output device, or a diffencal Transistor. If you can trouble shoot solid state electronics then you should be able to find the faulty, but if not your experienced at electronic repair, am afraid it may cost more then the reciveris worth. Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread
