The speakers all work in unison when hooked up to an iPOD, but when hooked up to the computer the speakers work normally, but the subwoofer doesn't play.

Good day sir, hi, If your subwoofer doesnt work on your PC, check to see if the sound setup is on 6 channel, I don't know what sound card you are using and what OS.

I will assume XP and Realtek:
on the the lower right, you will see the sound manager Icon, the orange speaker, double click the icon to load the Sound manager, goto audio I/O and enable 6 channel speaker.

You can also enable 6 channel on the control panel, goto sound and audio devices, then goto Audio, on the default device go to advance, on speaker setup click 5.1 surround sound, thats it. Make sure that your sound card, is in good shape.

Let me know your progress.

How to hook up speakers to an ipod dock

Just run an cable (3.5mm headphone jack into stereo rca cable) from your ipod's earphone jack to one of the available input channels on your amplifier. I put mine into the front auxiliary input on my amp and just simply selected that channel on the amp. Hope it helps. By the way, an RCA cable is the one with the white and red plugs. 2_21_2014_8_49_22_pm.png

Can't get sound out of Boston soundbar when hooked up to 46" LCD Philips? Soundbar works fine when hooked directly to iPod.

You may have to go into the settings on the tv and turn off the internal speakers in order to get audio out of the jacks on back.

Have you looked at the manual?

The NEW thing doesn't work.

Does the subwoofer work for setup? That would certify the hardware and speaker definitions are ok.

The PC has the responsibility for defining and sending out something between headphone and full-blown 7.1 though the HDMI. Check your PC sound controls and the "Information on HDMI" section of the manual.

For the radio mode, probably the only analog stereo source you have, read up on the STRAIGHT decoding mode and Sound Field programs.

Have you made sure the dock is compatible with the iPod version you have? If you are having to move the iPod around, this may be because the dock isn't built for the iPod you own.

It could also be a technical fault that the dock is loose. Take it/send it back to the shop and explain your problem.

Can you hook an ipod to this unit

If you locate aux input is the 1/8" headphone jack. You can get that L/R rca to 1/8" headphone jack at any electronics store. Then you should be able to play your IPOD. I know for fact that my ipod works playing mp3's straight in but many people complain that they are still unable to see the IPOD display. Please check the cable using a multimeter. Check if the cable is broken.

Just by shifting the system, I fear if you could have an issue like this. Also check the Subwoofer box if its working or not. Good Luck.

Subwoofer hums under power not hooked to system & hooked up?

This may or may not apply to your particular problem. On similar humming sound problems, I normally would look for either a fault in the input side and/or a leaky/defective capacitor in the power supply. On the input side, this may be a frayed shielded wire, loose connector (esp. the outer which is normally the ground). Try completely removing the connecting/input cable that goes into the subwoofer. If that doesn't work, then it you may want to check the big capacitor in the power supply section of the subwoofer. If you are not that familiar in working with power supplies, may I suggest that you ask any electronic technician to have a look at it since capacitors store a rather hefty voltage. Better be on the safe side. Hope this works out ok with you
