The red color is not aligned anymore on my Toshiba

old tv. don't put anymore money in it. get you a nice flat screen. not work it being a projection. jmo

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

Have you tried the "Magic Focus" Button/Option in the Menu Setup Screen? If you have and it still is there, You Have a Burned out Color Tube. It is Cheaper to Throw it away and Buy a New one.

one of the amplifiers on the convergence circuit is not working

Replace the convergence amps and test and replace any or all of the 2.2ohm resistors in the yoke return path out in front of the amps. This unit takes two STK392-110 Sanyo originals, DO NOT GET CHINESE KNOCK-OFFS... Buy them from Acme sales out of Florida and you can be assured they're originals.

Will the red align in all 4 directions in the other areas of the screen? If it moves in all 4 directions everywhere but one section its probaly a resistor near your convergence amplifiers. If the red wont move in all 4 directions anywhere, then its your Convergence amp ICs faulty. Cost about 20.00. Hope this helps.

If you are referring to the convergence alignment of red,green and blue........will require technical and mechanical skills.....
1) Pull chassis
2) Replace both STK392-110 convergence IC's
3) Reset alignment as needed........................................T.
