Question about Alpine CDA-7840
I've got a 1988 Dodge Ram and I know nothing about installing a CD Player. I have an Alpine CDA - 7840. The original stereo was taken out of my truck before I bought it. The wires in the truck are all connected into plastic plugs. Looks like they plug into the back of a stereo obviously, although there is no ports to plug them into on my stereo, and all the wires on the harness are just regular wires, and are not able to plug in or anything. So do I cut the plastic things from the wires in the truck and splice the loose wires with the loose wires on the stereo?
Basically, the truck wires look nice and neat.. Can plug right into a port it seems. The Alpine CD Player is pre-owned. The cords plugged into the back consist of 14 different colored wires with no plugs or ports on the end, which seem like they can only be spliced. How would I connect the wires to the truck, can it be done, and/or would it be easier to just buy a new CD Player?
Thanks for any answers!
Go down to a electronics shop (future shop or best buy) and they will have a connector that will fit the original plug. Some splicing will be required but its all color coded with the deck
hope this helps
