Toshiba satellite but the video card is incompatible with all downloaded video drivers, also perfomance is slow. what could be the problem??r

Windows Vista? That would half the problem. Upgrade to Win 7 to improve peformance.Centrino processor? Another 3rd of problem. Also try moving mouse off the display window. Must not play full screen. Add a codec package to play more different types of video. Google codecs for your OS. Many people like VLC player. I like Media Player Classic. Google either one for downloads. Locate the chip on the graphics card and note brand and model number. Visit manufacturers web site for a new driver. OR Buy a 50 dollar video card upgrade. Good luck.

Performance is very slow of Dell Inspiron N4020 with Win7 OS. Please help me out.

    Hi there,

Did you get this laptop with the Windows 7 installed or you upgraded from a lower version to Windows 7?

Windows 7 requires a huge amount of RAM (memory) and a good compatible video card. (because of the aero feature). If you don't meet the recommended system requriements, there is a big possiblity that your system will slow down.

If you have a good hardware and it is still slow, check your computer for possible virus infection or any application that consumes system resources. (e.g. Antivirus Software when running a full scan)

    Hope this helps.

Previously i was using windows XP now i installed windows 7. what should i do with drivers ? Its not working efficiently. Hanging problem and PC slow. RAM is 1 GB.

Even though windows 7 can be installed to a system with 1gb of ram it is not recommended because of the extra abilities and the graphical content of the Aero theme

if you're looking for drivers for anything windows 7 is actually pretty good with installing old devices as win7 has a huge database of old drivers

if win7 doesn't have a supported driver for some hardware that you are trying to use, finding a Vista driver will also work as both Vista and Win7 use the same shell and drivers are compatable with each other, the same can't be said about XP as it's using a completely different shell.

I have ASUS x5dc. I have installed windows 7 64 bit. Can i change OS?. My laptop is very slow.

Windows 7 is a very good operating system. But, the laptop may have a slow processor. Try to see if you can upgrade the processor to a core 2 duo or above. Also, try to upgrade or increase the memory to 2 gigabytes or above to 4 gigabytes if possible. The computer is guaranteed to speed up with memory and processor upgrades. Also, try to upgrade the hard disk drive to a SSD or Solid State Drive and you will see awesome speed.

Since I upgraded to Windows 7 I expierience that my computer hangs regulary

This can be related to few different things. One main thing to check is how much memory does you computer have since windows 7 requires at least 1GB to run smooth. Another would be incompatible driver or hardware. when you installed the OS did you run compatibility checker and hardware checker to see does your computer support installation of windows 7. Also anti-virus software might do it since windows 7 takes a lot of memory and add anti-virus to that and you get a very slow or unresponsive computer. Try to disable your anti-virus and see what happens. Also try to load windows to safe mode by restarting and constantly pressing F8 key and choosing safe mode and let it run this way. If it does not hang then it would be software or driver issue. Try removing everything from add remove programs that was put on other than windows and stuff that loads with OS and see does this resolve it. Main thing is that you have enough memory and also that your processor can handle the Windows 7. Try this and see what happens. If you run in any problems message me.

Will windows 7 work on my m70 laptop

    Thank you for your query

Your laptop does have the minimum spec for Windows 7, however I would recommend that you upgrade the memory from 1GB to 2 GB as it will be quite slow.

If you havent already upgraded the memory you currently have is 1 GB 533 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2 X512MB modules), you will need to upgrade this to 2 X1GB 522MHZ DDR2 SDRAM

I hope this has been helpful.

I have a ACEer 5315 model no ICL50 running Windows Vista. To say Vista is **** is an understatement. I want to switch to Windows 7 but guess I will need a lot more RAM for this. Can I upgrade Ram on this...

I recommend that you switch to Windows 7 without upgrading your RAM. Windows 7 is a lot faster, better and uses less RAM than Vista. Recommended RAM for running Windows 7 is 1GB but I have installed them on a Centrino 1.5GHz with 768Mb of RAM and they run perfectly.
So make the upgrade to Windows 7 anyway and if you feel that you need more power then you can get more RAM.
Also, download Windows 7 upgrade advisor to check if your pc is compatible. Download upgrade advisor here.
