Re: Canon DC210 camcorder
The DC210 will only work with with Mini DVD -R or -RW. I had the same problem when the BestBuy salesman sold me +RW Mini DVD with the DC210. I went back to the store and got them changed for +RW and I was then able to use the DC210.

Hey, I owned this camera since... Christmas and Ive had the same problem, I decided to look into it and I found something that helped Its called iSofter VOB Converter, and I just have the demo, and it seems to be working fine, Mind you I just got the program like 2 minutes ago... but I used Sony Vegas 8 to rip em at first, but you still couldnt edit them, but iSofter works on Windows Movie Maker, and probably other programs too... Hope this helped
Before you can transfer pictures or video from your Canon DC210 to your PC you need to finalise the disc in the camcorder.
also need to make sure that the DVD drive on your PC is capable of
reading a DVD-R, DVD-R DL or DVD-RW format as these are the only disk
formats that the DC210 will handle. Not all PC DVD drives can read
To finalise the disk you must have the power
adapter connected to the
camera, plugged into a wall socket and turned on. Then, switch on the
camera, put it into playback mode, Press 'Func.', select main
menu, select 'disk operations', select 'finalise'. Don't move or shake
the camera or switch it off whilst the finalising step is
underway - this could cause problems.
Once finalising is complete, put the disk into the PC.
It sounds like you may have a faulty battery or charger.
Take the extra battery and whatever you used to charge it (camcorder or battery charger) back to the shop where you bought it and get them to help you figure out what's wrong with their product. Your purchase is still under warranty and you deserve to have a product that works.
