Question about 2wire (1000-000057-000) Modem

2 wire gateway..trying to go wireless....shows excellent signal but limited or no connectivity.

1. Try to determine whether you can connect to the Internet
Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Internet Connection
-> Network Connections -> Right Click Local Area Connection
-> Properties -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) ->
Use the following IP Address,
IP Address: 192.168.0.2,
Subnet Mask:255.255.255.0,
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
2. Reset modem and rebooted the computer
3. Check cables if they are properly installed unplug and replug
4. If issue where not resolve contact your ISP service to check if it's the connection or hardware issue " ISP service has a tool that can run a line test determining where the broken connection is."

If you connect the computer to the router , does it works? If the wired is on line that means the wired connection is OK.
Open the set up page of the router check the
wireless settings of the router.
I think your network is secured and you are not

If you can see many Wi-Fi nets at your area, try changing the settings especialy the channel transmition for your net.

There is no connection between my Belkin router and Internet. I took my laptop and router to a service rep who stated everything worked fine in his shop. That is was the ISP who needed to be called. The...


Reset the router . CHeck if you can get a wired connection on your computer working . if it is not update the bios and the wired and wireless drivers. try reseating the wireless nic card as well .

Samsung NC10 will not connect to any network


If WLAN and Wireless cards are enabled, then you may have to unplug your router for 10 seconds to reset it. They tend to build up a static charge. Unplug wireless router for 10 seconds, plug back in and you should be fine in a minute or two with full connectivity

Can not connect wirelessly with router


The list of wireless routers that are available in Windows is very limited and the signal strength of any router that is detected is weak. This can occur when the Lite-On USB Wireless 802.11 b/g hardware and Windows are not able to fully synchronize the signal strength data. This update should only be applied if your PC has the Lit-On USB Wireless LAN adapter and is exhibiting the symptom. As a work-around, you can connect the wire that runs from the wireless antenna port to the primary port on the cord as follows: CAUTION: This product contains components that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). To reduce the chance of ESD damage, work over a non-carpeted floor, use a static dissipative work surface (like a conductive foam pad), and wear an ESD wrist strap connected to a grounded surface.
  1. Open the side panel.
  2. Find the wireless networking board by following the antenna wire connected to the wireless networking antenna port on the back of the computer. Figure 3: Wireless networking hardware c01153761.jpg 1 - Wireless network board 2 - Antenna wire 3 - Wireless networking antenna port
  3. Very carefully, disconnect the small wire from the board by gently pulling the end of the wire away from the board.

  5. Replace the side panel, connect the power cord, turn on the computer, and use the computer again to verify that wireless signal strengths have improved.

Wireless shows connection,but will not connect.


This kind of problem occur due to dhcp disable in the wireless router for the security purpose. So try to give the ip adress manually by right clicking on the wireless and give the ip adress of the same range in which your network in working e.g 192.168.1.0 is the range of your ip addresses so please select the ip which is not been used by any other computer and than in default gateway enter the ip address of you wireless router and you will be able to access the internet on your system.

I have tried to install router strait from modem to router to toshiba l30 laptop belkin shows up on laptop showing excellent signal but when i try to go on web it cannot make contact


access your routers administration by right clicking your network icon and using your gateway IP to access http://*gateway*
un - admin pw - (none), admin, public
look at your status in the belkin administration settings and see if you have an ip and gateway for your ISP.  The ip and gatway on your computer is for your belkin.
Try directly connecting the laptop to the router with a cable and see if it's on the net. If it is then you have wireless settings wrong. See belkin.com for more infor about router.
