You may have a bad Scanning Cap in the High Voltage Power supply, if so then check the neck of the picture tubes for cracks usually the green tube is affected by this. If one of these caps goes bad High voltage goes through the roof and cause a tube to crack at the neck. While turning on the set look for arching around the tubes, Also check the main deflection for burnt tracings around the HV scanning Capacitors, they are usually Square in shape and may be yellow or gray in color. IF the board is burnt then scraping the coating of the tracing and resoldering the pin to the board and then sealing it with rubber compound will usually work in this instant. Saving the time and money. This board can be sent for repair. as a new one is probably no longer Avaible.

What you may need to do is check that the lamp doesnt need replacing, if you have found that it has reached its expiry you need to make sure to reset the lamp use hours so the tv recognises that the tv has a new lamp inside it. Good Luck.

Hi my sansui tv sv29281 takes time to show pictures after i switch it on & when it becomes on, it produces weid sound...what could be the problem, pls help

If the sound is a high pitched, sizzling sound then it is most certainly a high voltage problem. If you feel capable, take the back of the set off and in a darkened room turn the set on. I would imagine you will see high voltage arcing somewhere around the transformer, trippler or lead that connects onto the back of the screen. (not the picture tube). If you do, this area will need to be investigated. Make sure the set is turned off and has been off for at least half an hour as there are very high voltages still present due to high voltage capacitors. Make sure that the plugs are right and insulate any earthing points around the area with simple elastoplast tape. Any holes in the trippler, ( a plastic box looking thingy), can be covered with a hot glue gun or silastic. Good luck and please take care._

Sony google tv makes sizzling sound

Even after switch off, there can be some discharge of static charges present in and around TV, hot plastic parts can contract and make some noise. Some sets have the cooling fan run for a few seconds more to reach a particular temp, before it is turned off. Just try switching off the power outlet, and removing the plug and see.

My rca p52926 picture cuts in and out

If model number is correct (on rear of set in small letters it should be a PTK 195 chassis) you have a high voltage lead somewhere that is arcing.

This set did have issues with the High Voltage transformer failing and also that High Voltage (well over 10,000 volts) gets distributed to each of the 3 picture tubes this model uses.

Sometimes the lead where it connects to one of the tubes begins to arc---it is coated with white silcone to prevent this.

If arcing around the entry point to any of the tubes sooner or later it will take the set down--destroy parts that are currently ok.

Usually we locate this by turning set on with back off and looking and listening when set is turned on---If a frying or pop is heard up above the main boards--one of the entry points (called the 2nd Anode) is arcing.

I have seen them arc hard enough and long enough to actually crack and break the glass wall of the picture tube.

I have a rca 32v343t atc010a and when i turn it on the power light comes on and the tv makes a noise like its coming on but then theres no picture or sound. I would like to finde out whats causing this to...

It sounds like the High voltage transformer has gone out. If you open the back of the tv and look on the right side, you will see a large (4 - 5 inch) black cylinder with a large wire coming out of the top. without touching anything, look and see if it is cracked.

Projection tv not working

I guess loud sizzling was from High Voltage Splitter in your TV. HV seems cracked and leaking high voltage.

You can observe and confirm it by removing back cover and power up TV from distance and check at rear of TV. Please take care and there should be little dark to observe arc from HV splitter.

If this is the case, HV splitter available in Part Store.

Comes on sizzles then goes off

The sizzling sound is very probably arcing on the fire charred PC board. Warning: there is a dangerous possiility of fire. Do not attempt to operate the set any longer without having it serviced.
If you want to service it yourself, replacement boards may still be available. Contact manufacturer's parts department
