Question about HP Hewlett PackardL1750 - flat panel display - TFT - 17" 17 inch LCD Monitor

1 Answer

My Dad was messing with his computer sleep settings and now when he turned his computer off it will not show any video at all, He cant even get into the bios. I had him go buy a new video card and it still didnt help. I am having him look at connections now for all components inside computer because he was also cleaning it. But the monitor comes on for two seconds and then goes into energy saving mode with gold light on. Absolutely No video. We cant even get into bios. Bummer huh. Any suggestions?

Yes.

Earth self. or Latex Gloves.

Remove small backup battery, renew if well used?

Locate power cables to mother board, 6/8 cables on connector, gentle pull/remove.

Go and have a cuppa.

Reinsert cable, take care to lineup connector with socket. Replace backup battery. Restart

You will need to reset clock.

My poota went into sleep mode and would bloody wake. So this was my solution that cured that prob, not saying it will work, but you never know blankout all memories held on the board?

Good Luck

Monitor won't turn on after coming out of sleep

Even tough you put your computer "to sleep" the only thing the monitor "sees" is that the video it was being feed has stopped.

You didn't give make or model of your monitor so I can not verify what is happening, but many manufacturers (to get a better "Energy Star" rating) have added a circuit that will turn off the monitor if no video input is sensed after a preset period of time. I suspect this is what is happening.

I suggest you should look through the monitors Set-up Menus. Look for anything that have to do with power save, or economizer modes.

Best of luck

My Dad took pictures at my Graduation a couple of weeks ago but the batteries were low so he kept losing power. According to my Dad, everytime he took a picture he saw it on the display screen yet day

STOP
do not write anything to your camera's removable memory card, otherwise you willt re-write the files and permanently lose your videos and pictures.
Install this recovery software called Tenorshare Photo Recovery.
From inside the software,navigate/choose your memory card letter( "D", "F", "G" ... ? ) and scan the section where it says "Raw Recovery", "Videos" or "Photos" . Scan the memory card and Set the destination folder(folder where recovered files will be saved) somewhere on your computer.
BTW, you can get this recovery software from
Tenorshare Photo Recovery for Windows
Tenorshare Photo Recovery for Mac
It will show you thumbnails for your pictures that it found on your memory card.
WARNING:there will be lots of recovered files,do not set the destination folder as your DESKTOP,otherwise you'll end up having 100000 files on your desktop... = total mess :)

Im using my tv as a monitor, when i turn on my music and then leave the computer to do chores, the computer goes to no signal and i cant listen to my music, how do i keep it from doing this?

Sounds like either your computer is in hibernation mode or your TV is set to sleep, what type of connection to your computer are you using? I do believe in this model Vizio there is a sleep option on each of the Video sources. But I would guess its your computer going into either sleep mode or in your running windows 7 Hybrid sleep mode.

Compaq Presario stuck in sleep mode

Connect the monitor to some other computer, e.g., a notebook, and see if it does the same thing. If it does, then the monitor is the problem.
If it does not, then your computer is not putting-out any "video" signal, and so the monitor goes to "sleep".

If you have MORE than one VGA-output port on your computer, connect your monitor to the "other" VGA port.

Or, press-and-hold the ON/OFF button on your computer, to force it to completely shutdown.

Hi,

Sleep is more commonly known as Hibernation with Vista.
Sometimes certain updates or freshly installed service packs can mess with your settings, or sometimes disable the feature altogether.

Microsoft have released a fix for just this problem.

Go here to Microsoft (link below) read down the page until you see Fix this problem, click on that and then click on Run when prompted.
You should get a message saying that the problem is fixed.

Restart your computer and set your Hibernation settings.
