Control panel for Kitchenaid YKERA807P

The membrane switch on my Kitchenaid YKERA807P range has a problem (the oven wont turn off). I removed all visible screws on the front panel but the cover will not pry loose from the oven so that i can get at the inside (it seems to be connected somehow to the stovetop). How do i get the front panel to disengage from the oven so i can get inside the front cover and replace the membrane switch?

SOURCE: Kitchen aid double convection oven - glass needs cleaning!

Had to remove the screws on the BOTTOM of the outside door, then panel came off after all the screws (inside oven door included) were off...
Reversed the order to put back on.. Cleaned (all) three glass pieces nicely... Now after reading the problems with the self cleaning part (doors getting stuck!) - I'm afraid to try mine!

I done baking and try to shut off the oven. The off button doesn't response.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

As the off button wont respond so the problem is with the membrane switch that is bad and needs replacement. This switch usually comes with the control pnael and to replace it you'll have to buy the control panel. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Will not operate. displays f2

F2 means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

On some models, you can get the membrane keypad replaced by a servicer or your can do it yourself, but on some models, you would have to order a new control panel frame which comes with a new keypad.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Can't turn oven off

Over the 2008 Hoildays while baking, our Kitchenaid range (KGSA906PSS) "off" button would not turn off the gas oven portion of the range. The two ways we could turn off the oven was to either set a "stop cooking" timer for one minute or to go the main electical breaker box and cut off the electricity to the the range - either way- not a good way. We called Kitchenaid Customer Service at 1-800-334-6889 and stated the problem. We were concerned that this was a safety issue since we could not turn off our gas oven without resorting to the timer or breaker methods. The warranty for the electronics touchpad is from 2-5 years according to our owners manual. We have had the range since Aug. 2005.

We provided our model #, serial#, date of purchase and answered some other questions. Kitchenaid did determine this to be a safety issue and in doing so, our replacement part and labor will be provided free of charge.

Even if your warranty has expired, I would still call Kitchenaid first since this is a safety issue.

Frigidaire elete smooth top range

IT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE. SOMETIMES THE TOUCH MEMBRANE SWITCH IS A SEPARATE PART FROM THE CONTROL, AND SOMETIMES THE CONTROL IS COMBINED WITH THE TOUCH MEMBRANE SWITCH. THE MEMBRANE SWITCH COULD BE AS MUCH AS $200.00 AND THE ENTIRE CONTROL AS MUCH AS $350.00.

F0 - F1 - F7 Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on. Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.
F0 or F7 Shorted Clear/Off Key due to membrane switch, control or connector Shorted key panel membrane switch; Check Electronic Range Control (ERC)

F7 A = Function pad button stuck or
B = Bad clock Unstick button or
