Your burner caps have gotten clogged and need to be replaced. This is probably the easiest part on the stove to replace. Just contact us at:

Gas oven takes 30 mins or more to to preheat

Open the bottom and have a look at the burner while its heating. The flame should be strong blue/white and both sides the same, if they are not you have some blocked holes in the burner. Remove the burner and clean out the holes (carefully, don\'t ream them out, use a small paperclip to clean them, be gentle.). Above all do NOT use any kind of oven cleaner on them, if they are aluminum, and most are the oven cleaner will destry it.

The gas flame on my 4 burner Chambers stove top is very low. When we try to adjust the air flow the flames increase for a moment but then return to being low. What could the problem be and how can we fix...

I had the same problem after a melted butter accident... I shut off the gas under the stove by a valve. Then I took the burners off and cleaned every orifice I could find. Still no luck. Then I cleaned out the main orifice right out of the controls for the burners, it was tiny and had to get a very small pipe cleaner made for an air brush gun. That did the trick! But now I have soaring flames and I'm trying to figure out how to adjust them back down.

The grill is 6-7 years old.. The flames are orange and leaving sud on the food..

sound like this is insufficient air in the flame...

if you can, lift burners out, spray them with oven cleaner and leave for several minutes, use wire brush and clean them under the water. pat them dry with paper, check if all holes are free of rust, fat and debris, clean as required. this should restore your grill burners to nearly new condition, return airflow back to normal and restore your flame to blue.

wear faceshield/googles to protect your eyes and gloves to protect your hands while you do that! and better you do not wear your sunday best either... oven cleaner is strongly caustic and can burn holes in the fabric and bleach it.

if you find this advice helpful, please do not hesitate to leave comment and give me your vote4, thanx!

Black soot on Coleman propane burner

Had same problem. Coleman tech support said, " clean with pipe cleaners". No directions....I would think they would provide a step by step protocol. So, I chose to take the knobs off and use the pipe cleaner where I could. I was able to take one of the two burner control knobs apart. After sticking the clean in every nook I could find, I put back together, and the flame on that burner is back to normal,

VDSC 365-40, Suspected right side ignitor box bad. Repairman came, obviously didn't know Viking, tore into unit and confirmed bad ignitor box. Estimated $450 to repair. I put in new box myself. Works...

You have to identify the thermocouple by the flame. Some units run sparks constantly to insure that tha flame stays lit. If you see the thermocouple bulb by the flame it is bad and needs replaced (he may have bypassed it also let me know)

It would be helpful if you have a multi meter. Sorry you are having trouble with the repair man. I hope I can talk you through this but if he has made a mess it could be 10 times more work for you. Txtooltime@aol.com

Oven burner flame is low

0000000.jpgOn top of that safety valve is a nut. Get a good fitting wrench. Turn on the oven and use that good fitting wrench on that nut. Turn it counterclockwise till the flame comes up about midways of the flame spreader. Don't get the flames too high. Midways of the spreader now. LOL

Magic Chef Gas Oven - Heats up slowly and has intermittent gas smell

STOP USING THE OVEN IMMEDIATELY!!! You are not getting enough air to the burners to burn all the fuel. Not only will you have an explosion hazard, you'll have a carbon monoxide hazard either of which will KILL YOU. Read all of the info below before you begin.

You need to clean all the burners and inlets thoroughly. You probably used the oven for a lot of broiling of meats or it is quite old. The deposits are clogging the tubes which gauge the amount of air entering the burners or the burner holes themselves. The burner tubes are generally removable by removing one screw and giggling the units clear. Before taking anything apart, note carefully the positions of any mix plates and scribe small marks between the two surfaces. Use a heavy duty cleaner or WD-40 to loosen grime. Don't use abrasives like Comet. Then wash in mild detergent with hot water and dry. Be sure all burner openings are clear. After assembly, note the color of the flames. They should be about 90% blue along their length from the burner head. If they are not, you didn't finish the job cleanly or you have another problem. If the burners are old, rusty or have irregularly shaped flame holes, replace them.
