sounds like the motor is bad on it, your best bet would be to replace the drive cause you don't know what other kind of damage may have happened to the drive. The lasers I know you can get seperately but not the motor.
The top rack spray arm doesn't work because of low water pressure from the wash motor or it's clogged with debris. If the top spray arm looks clear of debris, remove the lower spray arm and lower feed tube to
access the wash motor. Remove the 4 torx screws and the filter
(accumulator assembly). Remove the torx screw and the inlet protector
that covers the chopper assembly. Make sure the chopper is not broken
(broken chopper will fill with debris and block water flow). While
holding the chopper blade, reach inside the "D" shaped opening on top
of the motor and spin the wheel/motor by hand in each direction to make
sure either the chopper gear or the motor gear that drives the chopper
is not broken. Replace the chopper if necessary (part # 8268383). If
the motor gear is broken, replace the sump and motor assembly (part #
8535150). Remove any debris from the sump area in the process. You
don't have to shut the power off to the dishwasher because the door will be open, but if you feel more
comfortable, do so. Good luck!
It could be several things. Make sure the tailgate is latched all the way. The motor could be bad. remove the tailgate cover inside the truck. use a test light and have someone press the up and down button while checking for power at the motor wiring. If you have power going to motor on both sides ,the motor is bad. If you do not have power check for broken wiring or bad switches.
There may be many problem that have occurred to make this happen, here is a list of the three most common:
You MAY have a disc jammed into the PS2, making it impossible to open (and/or) close. This could have happened by someone accidentally putting one disc right on top of a disc that is in the PS2, and not taking the other game, movie, etc., out. How to fix? Best Buy, Circuit City. Another way this could have happened is: an earthquake, flood, SOMETHING, may have happened that made a disc fall out of the tray (while INSIDE of the PS2) and jam it up, to fix this, you have to do the same as the first option.
The motor is broken, this is pretty self explanatory, the motor that makes the disc drive open and close is broken, solution? Same as before.
Your PS2 has reached it's prime, and gone over the hill, sorry buddy. :(
I hope you found this helpful, sincerely-

1.just take the disk out for a min and give a good wipe and without spittin, blow inside the umd tray
The laser going bad is a pretty common issue with the drives, spindle motor could be all gunked up with dirt as well and cause that issue also. or it could just be the laser. can also try and clean the laser lens.
try going inside and dusting your ps2 that should help my ps2 was malfunctioning i thought i bought a small one and went inside my big one i found thatsdusting the thing will make it read disks better and faster and the thing wont go disk error
Make sure the disk is compatible and not damaged.Try playing another disk and see what happens if you still do not get anything you may want to consider a xbox or 360 with remote control for dvds. Also check to see if ps2 has a remote for playing dvd disc. never worry!!
