Panasonic Microwave oven starts, then stops. By "resetting" sometimes, it starts and runs.

This Panasonic Microwave Oven has a stainless steel cover with a mirrored touch pad, and consumes 12.7 Amps, 1,460 Watts (Model Nbr NNT964SF). It is not easy to see how to remove the touch pad to get to the circuit board. I would have to remove the screws at the back of the unit and slide off the stainless steal sheath.

I am describing this because I want to make certain you know my model.

OK. But my microwave unit needs to be fully removed from its stainless steel shroud first, just to get to the interior of the unit. The stainless steel cover is held on by a half dozen shallcross screws, which are too small for my existing shallcross bit. So I need to go out and find the right size shallcross bit to fit the screws.

Since, I'm opening up the entire microwave unit, do I need to first discharge the magnetron, which appears to be located behind the touch pad.

Thanks. My microwave is clear of any obstruction. My problem is I don't have the right size and type of screw driver to remove the machine screws holding the cover in place. hopefully, I'll be able to find the correct driver today. I'll let you know.

Make sure the airflow around the unit is free from "clog"" If the unit has shifted back towards a wall it may not have enough airflow and this will cause it to shut down.

Thanks for using Fixya

This microwave has a circuit board behind the push button panel,it can be removed by releasing some small plastic tabs, remove it an d clean the circuit board with a spray electric contact cleaner.A build up of moister, and food juices build up on the board and are shorting the circuit board out, this happens on these models of pannasonic.

SOURCE: Panasonic Microwave Oven NN-S262BF It starts to

There is not a lot you can do except call the Panasonic Repair Man. It may need either a magnetron or Invertor board.
Neither are user repairable.

My NN-T695 Panasonic microwave oven starts up for two seconds then cuts out before doing any warming?

I'm having the same problem with the same model microwave. It has taken hard use for a long time, but now it will (sometimes) start and then stop after a second or two. I think it's a loose connection, because a couple of times I got it to work by rapping on the back or side.

Child sign in window of microwave ,cant start it panasonic

On my NN-L738BA there is a Child Lock feature.
You set the child lock by pressing the Start button 3 times.
If the Child Lock is enabled it displays the word :CHILD".

To disable this feature on my microwave the manual says to
press the Stop/Reset 3 times.

Check your manual for the Child Lock.

Shuts off but everything else works

If the digital programmer circuit / controller does not get a feedback signal from the inverter for a period of 3 seconds, the controller will stop the cook cycle.

If it stops after 22 seconds, that means the controller has detected a problem, usually a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

You can find an authorized Panasonic servicer here.
