I actually would have to have a little more detail to know how to help you more. However the first thing I would suggest would be to be sure your have a fully charged battery in your camera, then reset the camera to factory default settings.

You can download drivers from here, but there is no driver for Vista.Vista should be install your camera automatically when you plug it to your computer.In last case try with XP drivers.
check for rust on battery contact points of camera. Cleaning or replacement may help if the problem hasn't spread further into the camera. Best of luck.
I would recommend you contact the manufacturer and speak to them as it sounds like a faulty unit, alternatively take it back to where you purchased the camera from and get a replacement.
