Question about Sewing Machines

1 Answer

The cleaner wasn't dispensing cleaner or water. it would thru the handheld brush. I took the lid off to locate the lines and there was a break in the cleaner line. I cleaned all lines and replaced the cleaner line. Now upon putting it back together, the short air duct tube is not right. It flew off so I cannot remember how it is supposed to go back into place. Underneath the plastic cover or above with the gasket on theduct opening. It would help for some schematics.

Have a Brothers pe770. Having trouble with thread contently breaking but just kept rethreading. Tonight the little long brush on take-up lever feel off. Can I still use machine? How do I fix this?

If the tread keeps breaking could be it's old thread, need new needle or needle and thread not the right combo for material. Or yiur tension is too tight.
not sure about the brush falling off. Up to you to try sewing.

PFAFF 1222E locked up. Has been siting for some time. Any advice?

Most sewing machine technicians would not recommend using WD-40. Instead, pick up a bottle of liquid Tri-Flow Synthetic Oil at the hardware store and apply a drop every place that metal rubs on metal. However, AVOID oiling any plastic gears! It is also not a particularly good idea to force parts to move as they could break. If they are frozen from lack of lubrication, the Tri-Flow, along with heated air from a handheld hair dryer directed at the metal parts will most often free them up. (Repeat the process as needed.)

Here is a web site that talks about issues with the plastic gears breaking/cracking on this particular machine, so this may also be your issue:

How do I clean the bobbin housing from all the fluff

A soft brush like a makeup brush will clear out the excess fluff. Remove bobbin case first. Or a can of pressurised air as used on computers.

How do I get the top back on a Singer touch and sew sewing machine?

I'm not sure what you took off, but I suspect that it was the cover over the thread path because that has to be removed first. If that's the case, it WILL go back on without forcing. You are right in not trying to force anything into place. Sometimes you just have to manipulate it around for a while, but it helps to use the screw holes as a reference point in lining it up. When you've got it lined up, it will indeed snap into place without forcing--it will just kind of "settle."

Bernina carbon brushes

I am assuming that you are discussing a motor from a Swiss made older model Bernina machine using a phase controller such as the type 290 or YC-420. The motor description will say SEG 884...? If so, the motor brush holder's black plastic tab can be bent up (lifted up) to remove the old brush and bent back down to hold the brush in position.
Note: The tabs can only be bent 3 times before they break off.....

Kenmore sewing machine jams and breaks the needle

always make sure the needle is inserted correctly and all the way
up into the needle holder
try a different bobbin
make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case
make sure the bobbin case is inserted correctly in to the machine
if it's a front or side loading bobbin case
make sure the top thread has not come off the top thread take up

Needle breaks
1.the needle is damaged
2.the needle is not correctly inserted
3.wrong size needle for the fabric
4.the wrong foot is attached
5.the needle clamp screw is loose
6. Top tension is too tight
7. Machine could be out of time

Need to know how to thread baby lock 4000

Hi there...i saw this last week..sorry i didnt get back to it sooner...considering you posted it nearly a whole year ago,but...i was at my patients home the other day(community health care manager), and he had rescued one...probably one of the originals from the trash. Ironically enough, he was a sewing machine mechanic in his younger days(now 88). But, he couldn't figure it out either. Wanting him to be able to use it somehow...I took on the challenge: please pardon my layman's terms (he gave me some i put there as well). But from the spool of thread(cotton stand)...go thru the thread guide at the top of the machine(right to left); then come forward over the pin that jets out leftward; bring it still straight-laying it right thru the tension control(leep straight lines); go down now thru thT spring-loaded thread guide; then upagain hooking it behind the take-up(that thing that looks like a letter "micro-sized,flattened out saxophone"; then down again thru both of the fixed thread guides and fi ally thru the needle. ...I reeeeally hope this helps you...although I hope by now you would've gotten tour hands on one of those handy dandy instruction manuals. But who knows...maybe it'll help someone else out. I can also upload a diagram if that would be of additiinal help ut I warn you it will be veeeeery rudimentary... Happy sewing!!
