Ipod classic won't sync with itunes 10

Restarting your computer is often the solution when your iPod fails to sync with your iTunes music library. But if this fails, there are other troubleshooting steps to take.

Recharge your iPod via a USB cable connected to your computer or AC adapter. b> Click the help menu in iTunes and check for updates. Follow the onscreen prompts to download and install the latest version of the software. Open the new version of iTunes. Click the name of your iPod in the source list and check for updates under the summary tab to update your iPod. Attempt to sync your iPod with iTunes. Slide your iPod's hold switch to the hold position and then to off. Press and hold the menu and center buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears to reset your iPod. Open iTunes on your computer and reconnect your iPod to try to sync it with iTunes. Restart iPod service b> Close iTunes and make sure your iPod is disconnected from the computer. Click the 'start' button. Click 'run' if using Windows XP. Type 'services.msc' in the run box in XP and in the search box in the start menu in Windows 7 and Vista. Press 'enter.' Scroll through the list and double-click on 'iPod service.' Click the 'stop' button and leave the properties window open. Connect your iPod to the computer. Open 'my computer' or 'computer' and look for your iPod listed in the devices with removable storage section. Click the 'start' button in the iPod Service's properties window. Open iTunes to attempt to sync your iPod. Close the iPod Service's properties window once your iPod has finished syncing. Resolve "Original File could not be Found" Double-click the name of a song in the iTunes program that failed to sync to your iPod. Click 'yes' or 'locate' to the message asking you if you want to locate the file. Navigate to the folder or directory location where the song is stored on your computer. In 1 line:uninstalled the iPod firmware updater program and iTunes. Get a fresh download of the firmware app and iTunes .Try installing iTunes 4.7.1
Steps:
remove the iTunes software and iPod drivers, make sure the iPod isn't connected. Restart the computer and reinstall the software again.

When you log in, load up iTunes (wait till it's fully opened and not in a busy state)
Get a fresh download of the firmware app and iTunes .Try installing iTunes 4.7.1
Then connect your iPod.

My Computer and iTunes does not recognize my iPod

The best solution to fix this problem is really simple. Only works on Ipod Nano or any other Ipod [Except Touch And Shuffle]. All you gotta do is:

1. Keep Ipod with the usb cable connected to your computer.

2. Reset your Ipod by pressing the round button and menu button at the same time and hold it for about 3 to 5 seconds.

3. After the Ipod reset is complete it should show the icon or itunes should pop up with the icon and your done. Works almost 100% of the time.

Itunes with vista

From what I understand, iTunes is not recognizing the iPod, because Windows does not recognize it. Choose to install the driver, set it to search for a driver in "C:\Windows". It should find a USB Mass Storage Driver, an iPod Driver, and a USBusEnumerator. Choose the iPod Driver, and if that doesnt work, try the USB Mass Storage Driver, and then the USBusEnumerator. If Vista gives you a memory error, reboot your computer and try the iPod Driver again.

Solution

Microsoft has released an update for Windows Vista that addresses a situation where ejecting iPod from Windows Explorer or by using the "Safely Remove Hardware" feature in Windows Vista could corrupt your iPod. Apple recommends Windows Vista customers who own an iPod install this software update. For information on how to install this Microsoft hot fix, refer to the "Update your software" section below. Tip: iPod can always be ejected safely by choosing Eject iPod from the Controls menu within iTunes.

Update your software

Microsoft has made this Update for Windows Vista (KB936824) available via Windows Update as well as a separate download package. To download this update via Windows Update follow the steps below:

  1. From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, select Check for updates in the Security section. If the Control Panel is in Classic view, open Windows Update.
  3. Click the View available updates link and be sure that Update for Windows Vista (KB936824) is checked.
  4. Click Install.
