B & S 675 series engine timing question

I have a Snapper 2550 psi pressure washer with a Briggs & Stratton 675 series engine. The engine quit and upon investigation I found the timing gear on the crankshaft spinning on the shaft. When I get ready to time the engine. what is the position of the gear to the camshaft with the piston at TDC?

The gear on the crankshaft is 'keyed' and has a dimple on one of the teeth. That dimple aligns with the dimple made into one of the teeth on the camshaft.

I have a Troy Bilt 2550 psi Power Washer with a Briggs and Stratton 675 Series, 190cc engine. Could you tell me what kind of oil I should use.

Best oil for small engine for most moderate climates is 30wt non-detergent. The pump can use mineral oil (air compressor oil ) sold at most auto stores and lumber outlets.

The 6.5 hp Briggs & Stratton engine that powers my 2550 elite pressure washer is blowing oil out the exhaust and air filter while it is running. Do you think this is a gasket problem or a piston ring...

It most likely is a ring problem as the gasket only keeps the combustion gases in and would leak around the head as a loud noise. Of course it could be the valves, but I doubt it as most of these engines are splash fed instead of pressure, so the only explanation is the compression ring is letting oil blow past.

I have a 2550 PSI Pressure Washer Troy Built by Briggs. The gas tank at its seam all around cracked in two places. I feel this is a manufacturing issue. I think I temporarily fixed the problem with JB...

Try a lawnmower repair shop or use miliput to cover the welds clean & dry the tank blend it half and half roll it out flat then mould it around the whole of the tank over the join with about ten to fifteen mm spare both sides then mould & smooth it into place, it's fantastic stuff but make sure the tank is clean & dry & give the milliput plenty of time to dry if you do it right it will probably out last the pressure washer.

Need to know where oil drain plug is on 6.75 hp Briggs & Stratton engine on 2550 psi troy bilt pressure washer!!

I have the same model...... it should be just underneath the unit.... it will look like a square head recessed. I used the ratchet set extension and it fit just right. I literally had to tilt the darn thing upside down to find it. Then once it was loosen a bit, I put the machine upright on the wheels again, and slip a plastic pan underneath as I finished unscrewing the oil plug, Out came the black goo.

What kind of oil do I use in my 675 series engine

4 stroke synthetic is most likely what you'd want to run if it's a new unit to yourself. Otherwise any 4 stroke motor oil is fine, you can find it at any retailer that sells small engine machinery.
