Well the good thing is that http://support.dell.com has drivers for all of their computer products so you can download the sound card driver if need be. The big question is, does the computer detect the sound card and not have a driver for it, or does the system not even detect it? You can see if you right click on "My Computer" and go into properties. Go to the hardware Tab and click on the device manager button. You may see an audio device listed under unknown devices which has a yellow question mark beside it. If this is the case, the system does detect the card and just needs the driver (which can be download off of support.dell.com). If You dont see any audio devices listed, then the system doesnt detect a sound card and you will need to have a more in depth analysis performed on the laptop

I'd guess your memory is filling up. Try setting your undo levels to really low, like 1 or 2, and see if that helps.

Hi, I own the Canon PowershotA540, recently I discoverd that once I put the SD card in my computer to download the pictures it downloads them, but once I put the card back into my camera all the pictures...

This sounds like the program you are using to download the pics is set to erase them from the card when the download is complete. You need to dig into the program and adjust the settings. That's as much as I can tell you since I don't know what program you're using. Your camera is fine.

How to recover erased images from sd card

It is quite possible to recover the photos no matter deleted, formatted, lost or inaccessible from your sd card. All you need to do first is by trying SD card data recovery software tools.

Note: before those files are recovered, never should you attempt to save more data to the card. better stop using it for a moment. Regards.

Write Protect Error Message

Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup- right arrow to format option. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect message and the card can be used again.

However if you need to save these images first: As long as the xD card was not formatted it is possible to recover the images that were accidently erased, lost or corrupted. You can go to the following website link and download an image recovery software program that is free of charge.
http://www.z-a-recovery.com/
You want to download a program called Zero Assumption Recovery. It is a very simple program to use and many people have had much success in recovering lost images.

Data recovery is a booming industry, and many appropriate services and software can be found by searching regional phone and business directories or the Internet for terms such as "image recovery" or "data recovery".

Lost pictures?

I'm sorry to say that the card is erased. A format is a complete erase of the memory card.
However, your pictures aren't necessarily lost. First of all, make sure you don't use the memory card in the camera. As long as you haven't taken any new pictures on the card, you should be able to recover your pictures.
Next, you will need a USB memory card reader that accepts your type of memory card.
Connect the card reader to the PC, then insert the memory card in the memory card reader. Then download this program: http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/download.htm
This is a program for recovering lost pictures from formatted memory cards. It's a free trial version, that will show you the photos that can be recovered. To do the actual recovery, you will have to buy the program for $29.
I hope this helps you! Let me know if I can provide more help.
Regards,
/Chris

Camedia 4.1 disk download

They easiest way is to use a memory card to store photos on, then use a generic USB memory card reader to transfer the photos from your card to a PC. Until camera makers can use universal USB drivers built into the PC to run their camera's, these problems will always remain.

Image protection and erasing are covered on pages 64 and 65 of the manual (you can view/download the manual here). If you are going to erase all images, you can just initialize the card (see page 65). It will erase all images, even protected ones.
