Go to control panel > power options. Turn off hibernate and sleep mode, change all settings to never sleep and change the setting for "when closing the lid" to "do nothing" sleep mode, hibernation can destroy the registry on these laptops, you are better off turning that garbage off and just letting it run.

Created a 300 picture slide show on my pc. the screen will go blank after 30 minutes and i have to hit the return key or touch the pad. Is this a sleep setting issue or kodak?

I suspect you have a screen saver set up that blanks the computer screen after 30 minutes.
If you are running Window XP, right-click your mouse on the desktop, choose Properties, from the Display Properties dialog, click the Screen Saver tab, then in the Wait box, increase the amount of time before the screen saver activates. Click the OK button when you are through.
Good luck,

I have an HP Pavillion dv9910us laptop running Windows 7 32bit... It has been running fine, as usual. Lately I have had a lot of problems, however, with resuming from sleep or hibernation, it powers up but...

WHY NOT GET IT FIXED.?
NOT ONCE RUN IT WITH NO BATTERY AT ALL.!!!
FAIL NOW?, BAD POWER PACK IF BIOS IS DEAD
WORKS NOT, BATTERY IS DEAD SHORTED , BAD.
EASY NO?

ALSO KNOW SLEEP MODE! facts of life.
Only works if all driver on laptop are correct at hp.com
or it will fail for sleep.
or virus infected.
turn off sleep mode (ac/ and batter) under powers settings CP
work now>? i bet does, (battery out)

new power pack but why do that, take out the battery first
laptops need no battery and with no battery it can run perfect

Screen goes black. Put it in sleep mode. Then hit the start and it comes back on even with powercord in..what can fix it?

this could be probably due to static charges or corrupt bios settings.
Turn off the PC, disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the battery. Now press and hold the power button for 45 seconds.
Now download and install the latest BIOS update available for your notebook from manufacturer's website. If issue persists, reinstall the display drivers.
I hope this will help to resolve the issue.

Boot holding power and home at same time. After 10 seconds, release power and continue to hold home screen for another 30 seconds. The screen will stay blank but should put phone in DFU recovery mode. Plug into iTunes and recover.

My averatec lcd won't stay on

Can you try your monitor on another computer to see if it does this there as well? Usually this happens only when video is not detected coming from the PC. It could be as simple as a short in the monitor cable. If you have it connected to a laptop you'll also want to check you control panel power setting rules and then the screen saver under display.

Black screen

• 1) TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY
• 2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTOR CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.
• 3) NOW HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS.

That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.

Replace your battery.
Restart!

Hello there...
Check its sleep settings. Someone may have hit the sleep timer and have set it to about 10 seconds. If that still doesn't help, please post a reply here.

Just got off the phone with Acer Suppport. This was after I sent an email to them, that suggested that I call. 8-/ annoying. So the guy on the phone says there is one thing that we can do before sending it in. Unplug it completely for the wall and computer. Hold the on/off button in for 30 secs. reconnect power and the computer. It worked for me
