SOURCE: Have an older Sears Craftsman 10" Table Saw, model

you should be able to order one from sears. another place to look is ebay. the round plastic thing is to mark with pencil the cut of the blade. put in your sliding miter Gage set at 90 deg. put a piece of wood on it, push forward and cut the wood then slide back and mark the wood position on the plastic. that's the point where your blade cuts

Testimonial: "Thank you very much, I'll try Sears first and see if they can help. Since it's an older saw, they haven't been much help up to now."

SOURCE: I have a craftsman model

Don't have all the answers you want, but may be able to help with the dado question. The 137 generally points to Rexon-Tradesman. A brand sold here by Lowe's.

My table saw is 137.248800 which will Not accept an 8" dado blade set.

You may have purchased the 8" dado set. Try the 6" size, if your saw has a 5/8" arbor. My dado set is the Freud (SD206) carbide version. My saw will accept only up to 1/2", maybe 9/16" dado setup.

The cabinet saws typically use the 8" dado set, capable of up to 3/4".

You should also be able to get the parts that you need at Sears.

Does the bolt turn R or L also does it take a special tool. I have had this saw for 28 years and my guys changed the blades I fear they lost the tool. Also will a 10" blde work it has a 71/4 now

The bolt on your saw blade turns right. Hold a block of wood against the blade so the bolt can turn. You can use a adjustable wrench if it will fit. Otherwise see if an open end wrench will fit. The 10" blade will only work if the saw was designed for a 10" blade and there is enough clearance.

I have a crftsman table saw mdl # 137228210 I purchased the saw used. I need a rip fence . the guides are allready there. any help would be appreciated

There's an exploded parts drawing and parts list at the link below. This may be useful to see what the fence is supposed to look like. It's not listed as an assembly, just a surprisingly long list of parts that would cost a fortune - if they were all available. Maybe you can find one on ebay. Barring that, you can always just clamp a board to the table to rip with - the hard part is getting the makeshift fence to be parallel to the blade. To do that you can use an adjustable square and measure from a miter slot in the table to get a quick and straight setup. Good luck.

I have a craftsman table saw model 113.27870. I need a table insert for a dado blade. I looked on the sears website and it said parts for this saw are no longer available. Will a table insert for a newer...

Maybe you could try using the outline of the regular insert to cut a new insert out of a piece of polycarbonate (lexan) or ABS plastic. The clips that hold my dado insert barely hold it in place on mine, and I've seen other saws that use plastic.

Adjusting the saw blade for exactly 90 degrees on an old craftsman 10 " radial saw

If the saw is adjustable for angle we usually use an engineers square against the blade to get it upright and then you may find an adjustable stop or stops somewhere so you can set the position ready for the next time you need to set it.

Need a replacement motor for 1972 craftsman jointer

went to Sears site and no luck most parts are discontinued. So maybe try Grainger with the information from the data plate on the motor for a replacement or check in yellow pages for a local dealer of electric motors. I don't really think that there should be anything special as long as the output shaft and mounting are the same. Good luck sorry I don't have better info for you.
