I have a HLN617W Samsung television. The picture shakes bad. When I put it on pip where you can watch 2 screens at one time, on the left is real shaky and the right is good for about 20 minutes and then it starts shaking with white. But the shaking is not as bad as it is on the main screen.

I have a samsung hln617w that when i turn the television on you can see the picture good but after 2 or 3 minutes the screen begins to shake and the picture goes blurry. When you go to PIP the second picture looks good for 20 to 30 minutes the screen goes white from the bottom up and then goes away. After a few hours the second screen begins to shake just like the first picture but not as bad.

Disconnect the video sources from the TV then reconnect them properly and perform the initial setup after resetting the TV to the original factory settings and also reset the video sources to the factory default settings.
Furthermore, connect two different video sources to the TV to configure for PIP or you may change the cables to ensure if the issue is not with the cables and video sources.
If the shaking is felt with one video source but not other then the issue is with the video source and you may troubleshoot the video source that is causing the issue.

Check if the same occurs on other sources of signal. Try your cable connection, a player with an RCA (round type cable) connection or a playstation. We need to check if the problem is on the source or it is on the analog or digital part of your tv.

Two boards can cause that kind of problem in Samsung HL-N617W, either power supply or digital board.
Need to swap above said boards to confirm what board is causing problem or inspect closely for leaky electrolytic capacitors and replace them with same ratings.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

I replaced the color wheele in my Samsung HLN617W and when I got it put back together the picture was not centered in the screen The TV is a 61" DLP and it is a samsung.

When you replaced the color wheel it sounds like you took the DMD board out or you bumped it? Either way the DMD board will need to be realigned and that involves reaching into the TV while it is in normal operation. The DMD board in the one sitting right behind the digital bard and has a small fan facing the heat sink on it. There are three screws 2 on the left side on one on the lower right that need to be loosened just a bit and then with the set on you will have to move the board back and forth to achieve dead center. Remember from the back moving the board to the left moves the picture to the right and pushing down on that board will shift the picture upwards.

No picture in picture regardless of any way I wire the tv HELP

Thank you for providing the exact brand and model number of your product.

What it is: PIP lets you watch a second program in a little window. More-elaborate versions can resize the window, move it around the screen, create still or multiple still images, or simply divide the screen into two same-size pictures, often called "picture-outside-picture" (POP).

dfbe858.gif
What it isn't: PIP has a dirty little secret, though: If you use an external tuner such as a cable box or a satellite receiver, you can watch only one program at once. If some of your channels are unscrambled, you can watch those on the second window, and you can usually watch other sources such as VHS or DVD on it, as well. But even with two-tuner PIP, a single cable/satellite box will prevent you from watching two live scrambled channels simultaneously unless the box itself has two-tuner PIP.
