Your e-machine came with a set of 2-3 restore discs. use them as prompted to get pc back to factory specs..otherwords a fresh install...by the way you will lose any important info on the hard drive because it will be formatted goodday..

Older gateways used to come with a recovery CD that would rebuild the machine back to factory settings. The alternative (which can be a little more difficult) is to use an XP setup CD and format and reinstall the operating system. The downside of that method is that you would need an XP key and you would also need to manually reinstall the hardware drivers like the sound card, network card, etc.

How do i reboot my gateway desktop back to original factory condition

There might be a restore partion. While the computer is first booting up look for something like "Press F2 to restore". If you don't see that then your machine probably doesn't have one and you will need to contact Gateway for a set of restore CD's.
Good Luck
