Re: Turn the power back on for the box

I would say that you loaded a program that kill your receiver. I would suggest to check the voltages from the power supply to the main board. If those voltages appear normal, I would suggest to do a jtag to bring it back to life.
Google "how to jtag a FLU?" and you will find some good info.
Good Luck.

My DCT6200 cable box keeps shutting itself off and then turning back on. I have already tried resetting it by unplugging, but that has done nothing. Even after I have turned off the power and left it...

1) have you tried changing that box in that room to another and the box from the other to this room. That may give you an idea of either power or signal strength issue.
2) after it resets does a "dl" show up on the box front. if so it is trying to download a firmware/software update and everythime you power cycle it starts over.
3) turn the box off then hit select and go to option 8. there should be 4 modules enabled.
4) you may need a new box

Dedicated micro digital sprite 2 (no cd rom type) cctv recorder.System freeze

system freezes after a few hours being turned on. There can be a number of faults that will cause this 1 and 2 is the hard drives master driver or slave. 3 is the power pack (PSU) these can over heat and burn out the capacitors and fan these will need changing. then there 4 there is 2 fans in the unit these can fail or slow down making the unit overheat these fans are 5v 40mm bearing type. you can change these for 12v same size and run them off the hard drive wiring.the system should never go over 40c new hard drives can heat up to over this and cause the unit to over heat so you will need to put cooling fans on the bottom of the hard drives and make a barrier between the hard drives and mother board i have done this with some card board and left a part open were the fans are fitted. this has worked very well hard drive area temp was up to 50c and mother board was at a steady 30c with room temp at 29c. now for number 5, there are 2 chips on the left side of the mother board just pushed in. these can lose contact, you will need to remove them and clean the pins on the chips just prise them out carefully and clean the pins even a bit of silver conduct will help used for repairing damaged boards. let it dry then put the chips back in, making sure they go back in the same way they came out.the are the memory chips newer models don't have these, they have memory like a pc/laptop. but they can do the the same thing. Its is best to do a full rest if you are not changing hard drives, wipe both the hard drives on a pc. reformat them to FAT32 and down load the firmware from dedicated micro.remember the firmware is the same as the one that was on before, to find this out in the first menu it will tell you the boot firmware and system firmware ie 3.1 etc. the hard drives now formated on the main drive (master) place the files from the zip file from the down load onto the hard drive slave drive as long as it is formated that is it the system does the rest to it on setup. shut down the pc or what ever you are using and remove the hard drive and reinstall it to the digital sprite. when every thing is back together it is now ready to be setup. plug all the cameras back in and what ever you have to plug into it. don't have the power on to the cameras wile doing this. turn on the power to the digital sprite 2 now it will setup and unzip the files to the drive. then turn on the power to the cameras. when finished it will still be setting up . banner should be on screen the screen fixing files to c drive then d drive them image file to d drive after this is all done go to menu on first menu check numbers of the unit. the go down to shut down and shut down unit. press 1 when asked to for 5 seconds. now leave the unit of for 10min. then turn back on. and this is how to fix a faulty system you will now need to set up system to how you want it most setting will be the same but some will have been lost like . internet setting and camera setting colour and external keyboard control setting they will need to be rest. but wiping the system and reinstalling it will help as every time the system freezes it can loes files or images. hope this helps as meany as it can with a freesing systerm.

Motorola dvr dct6412 locked channels

Check with your provider to ensure that you are in expanded services, or limited. Because being on limited services the box will lock you out of those channels. If you are in billing for those services and you checked the batteries on your remote and they are good and you get a solid red blink when you change channels not a double blink (indicating that your batteries are dying), Then try power cycling your DVR by, removing the power supply and waiting 3sec then plug it back in. Your box should shut off, turn itself back on, then go into the load screen, then, once the load screen display shows on your tv and on box display, wait for your box to completely load (don't touch nothing until the correct time shows up, meaning that it has completed the load process) Once the process is complete turn box back on and you should have you guide back up and (No Data) on your program schedule(Don't Worry!!) it will populate, with 15-20 mins.

Now try to ch. up and down and see if that fixed the problem. also make sure nothing is blocking the sensor. If all else fails and you changed the battery, called your cable provider and request a box swap, (be sure to watch all your recorded shows because they go bye, bye with the cable guy!)

Didivox in cork area

If you box is on MMDS/Teresterial:

You should download the firmware "digivox_ter_v3300.bin" and put this on your box using downloaded10.exe (This will automatically fix your problem)

(You should be able to find the file by using Google.)

1. Connect to Internet.
2. Search for the files named above
3. Save / Download the files
4. Get the cable to connect your box to the PC.
5. Connect PC to Digivox via the serial port using an RS232
6. Turn on Digivox & then turn on PC.
7. Open loader software “DOWNLOADER 10”
8. Check settings and parameters. Defaults are usually correct.
9. Browse for bin file (digivox_ter_v3300.bin )
For all files and the downloader 10 click this link and hit digivox

and select.
10. Check “app file” (default).
11. Click “download”
12. A progress bar will appear. Wait for “download complete “ window to pop-up
13. Turn off Digivox and PC then disconnect.

Enabling Key Emulator

1. Connect Digivox to TV (usually scart), cable feed and power on.
2. Perform full auto-scan.
3. Go to “main menu”
4. Scroll down to “System Information”, press “OK” to enter System Information menu.
5. On your remote control press “ 1 0 0 4 ” (ignore what happens on the screen)
6. “Key Emu” will now be visible on the screen.
7. Change “Key Emu” to ON
8. Exit menus and return to TV mode.
9. Go to a scrambled / encrypted channel and wait for update process to complete.
10. Scrambled channels should now be unlocked.

Problems with no sound
To get back sound on e4 sky1 ect just select the channel in question press menu, select installation, select manual scan, click ok on down frequency. It'll now scan for channels when its finished exit back to normal tv viewing screen go to the end of your channel listing and the desired channel will be there with sound. This can be done on any channel with no sound by just selecting that channel following the instructions above
