What's your problem? My husband got a Vivitar ViviCam 7028 as a rewards gift from his company and we've been busy taking lots of photos and video on it, but when I try to download the photos to my...

The first problem is explained by the error message. Your camera is consuming too much power to go through a USB hub. Try connecting it directly to a USB port on your computer, without going through a hub.

The second problem is most likely related to the card reader. You didn't specify the exact model of Belkin reader so I can't give you a definite answer, but it appears the reader is designed for SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it will not work with devices not specifically designed to work with SDHC cards.

To sum up: If you want to use a USB port, connect directly to it without going through a hub. If you want to use a card reader, make sure the reader is SDHC-compatible.
If you have additional questions, or some part of the above isn't clear, please feel free to respond to this post.

Sometimes, "card error" simply means that you need to format the card in the camera. This will erase the card so download any pics from it first using a card reader if necessary. typrice_87.jpg

When I put the SD card into my camera, i get an error message. And I can't use the card. Is there a way to fix the Card. It's a 2 gig SD Ultra II at 15 mb/s.

Look up how to reformat card or put the card into your computer via card reader, empty trash can and eject normally. Often if you moved a file to the trash can and eject the disc w/o emptying the trash can you can be prevented from using the card.

You will need to get a new card reader for you computer. If it is not able to read the UDMA type cards it will fail to recognize them. The came is UDMA compatible and does not have the problem.

you may have to check the manufacturers website for a vista compatible driver (as it seems that the generic driver is not working here.)

Camera read CF card, but cannot see on USB or other media

You can connect the camera to the computer via a USB cable and use the camera as the card reader. It will show up as a mass storage device. You should then be able to copy the images to your PC and format the card once recovered.
