Question about Brother PC8500D
I have a Brother PC 8200. I had always used it for embroidery and I just tried to use it for sewing. The feeder doesn't move the material. It stays in the same position.
Look for a mechanical switch that engages the lower drive mechanism.

I had the same problem and eventually worked out that if I pressed the automatic trimmer (scissors) right away, it would engage the feed dogs.
