I'm assuming that you're referring to the free version of AVG. I've seen this problem before and solved it by re-installing AVG, rebooting the PC then removing it. If you don't still have your AVG 8 installation file you can download it here http://www.oldapps.com/AVG_antivirus.php.

I Hope this helps

Avg cant work becouse of error 0xE001D027

I am glad to HELP YOU!

Usually this error code (error 0xE001D027) appears when you have installed the AVG after you have un-installed a previous antivirus or an Internet security package.
What I'd suggest you:
# download and install Revo Uninstaller from HERE (it's the BEST UNISTALLER I've ever known)
# uninstall AVG (already installed) and any LEFTOVERS from the previously installed ANTIVIRUS/INTERNET SECURITY SOFTWARE
# when all it will be done REINSTALL AVG

Some extra details you have HERE.

GOOD LUCK!

Action failed for file avgtdix.sys: starting service....

There is a known issue between AVG 8 and Anniversary Edition of Ad-Aware which gives exactly this error, so if you perhaps just got that ad-aware, uninstall it too before trying to reinstall AVG.

Then run the uninstall/cleanup util for Avast because the Windows Add/Remove isn't good for uninstalling antivirus programs. Then try reinstalling it again. If you downloaded the installation package, then it provides the uninstall option. Disable Ad-Aware's Adwatch first! Run the AVG installer. Choose the uninstall option and follow the wizard. When you get to the part to remove user settings, select it. Restart your computer then... Now reinstall AVG using the setup file you got and update it.
Restart Windows twice before you re-enable anything disabled earlier.

Should this not work and you get the same error, that means the original errornous installation is still not out of your system. Download the AVG remover from here:
http://www.avg.com/download-tools
Remove your AVG and reboot to make sure it is not there any more, and try installing again.

Let me know if the solution worked and if yes please rate me:)

Unable to install AVG 8 free

Strippy had asked you a right question. You may be trying to install AVG when you have already one antivirus program running. OR you had once installed AVG sometimes in the past, but uninstallation was not properly done. Hence it is showing registry key error.

1. If you are running any anitvirus prog now, first uninstall it. Then restart the machine.

2. Now you try install AVG. it should install. if not, try the following

Go to system restore and create restore point for safety.

go to run and type regedit and then enter

Press cntrl + F for finding earlier registry keys of AVG. Try to find out all old registry keys amd delete them all.

Restart the machine. Its DONE.

  2. Install it and run it
  3. Scroll down and select AVG products and remove them one after the other (if there are more than one)
  4. Restart the computer and install your new anti-virus program

Avg 8 removal problem....

hi iam sharu
The recommended procedure is a time consuming one. You must download the latest version of AVG from the website, and then run it.

1) Click on the following link and download AVG to your desktop

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0

2) Double-click on the downloaded file to run it
3) AVG will present you with three options to choose from. Choose the Uninstall option to completely uninstall AVG

Add/Remove Components - choose if you want to add/remove some components or reinstall the entire AVG program
Repair installation - this option repairs or reinstalls missing or damaged components of AVG
Uninstall - this option removes the AVG program from your PC

4) Once the uninstall has completed, restart your computer. You can then proceed to install another antivirus or install AVG again.
