Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook
I own a toshiba u300 psu30c - tp208c and for some reason my laptop keeps losing all power whenever i press the power button... i've tried everything from unplugging for some odd seconds to trying only with the A/C plugged in to no avail... my laptop just won't power on at all
First you need to check the fan/heatsink assembly, you might need to disassemble laptop to get to it.. but it needs to be cleaned, Clean the Heatsink Cooling Fins, and Clean the fan blades...
You next should check youe AC Adapter... Use a multimeter Hold the black test prod to the outside of the plug tip and put the red prod inside the plug tip - test for positive power... Slightly bend the cord near the tip of the AC Adapter when testing to see if there is a short in the cable..
If cord tests good, then you will need to check the DC Jack, this will also mean complete disassembly down to the motherboard and visually inspect the DC Jack...which quite possibly needs replacing.
