your in an apartment an there are several more 2 ghz wireless near , you can change channels on the router an that will help.
they have a default .
this means every machine needs to be changed that contact the router wireless.
or get dual band router an a 6ghz cisco usb wireless 10.00 adapter from amazon

1. If you have downloaded all the updates for this model router and it still will not connect it may be due to "incompatibility withe Macbook Pro or the what is call end of life" for this device and a new router will probably work better.
I would check D-Link's page for update for your model
2. check to see if your setting for TCP/IP is correct
( that is that you don't have the ip ( internet protocol ) set to a static IP that is a set IP.
3. Check to see if you have you setting for DHCP ( automatically) this will allow the server to set an ip or the the router.
Most routers that have there settings for static are a special setup.

Is it wireless ?
You will need to check the wireless settings of the router
is there any computer connected to the router ?
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.

Or this the new set up. If your router is already set up then you don't need to run the disc to set up the router again. You just need to connect to network.
If you want to set up the router , you can do it without the CD also.

Check your router's IP address from the Compaq machine. Get a command prompt and type ipconfig .all
Then wright down the IP settings.
Check the IP settings of the Macbook Pro. Adjust settings. You can give a Static IP also. If needed. But you have to set the default gateway -Enter previouse IP settings for those.
Check ur Wi-Fi settings also.

This is related to the firmware of the router, so what you need to do here is to update the firmware of the router and that should fix the problem....

You shouldn't need to install anything off the CD. Simply plug your Macbook into the DIR-300 via ethernet (making sure you manually set your Macbook's IP to 192.168.0.x (where x is anything from 2-254). Then open up your web browser and type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar. This will log you into the DIR-300 (I think the default login is "admin" with no password).

Refer to the manual for the configuration for the rest of your setup.
