You can plug it in without loosing songs. Just don't use the sync option.

You can plug in, go to start menu, my computer, then find the ipod, double-click on the drive to access all the files. You can also highlight all the songs, and drag and drop into your music folder under my documents.

If you haven't tried so already, plug into a computer with iTunes installed. When iTunes identifies the iPod, you should be able to restore the device, which involves formatting it so be aware that you will lose all the songs stored on the device.

I plugged in a friends ipod to my computer to sync my songs on his ipod well it says it can not sync because the apple ipod has no service

This is Apple's way of not allowing people to share songs. I can't take your songs you can't take mine if you get a good hook up on your computer and you try to copy songs it will delete the songs on the guest player. You did not buy the songs you can't have them. That's Apple.

I lose content of my Ipod when charging.

Hey. In your itunes window, you have the option to automatically sync the ipod once it is plugged in. If this is on, then your ipod will sync itselfto whatever computer you plug it into. This means that if you have uploaded a bunch of songs from your computer, and you plug it into another one with auto sync on, it will delete all your previous songs. In the future, make sure this option is turned off, and that you do it manually.
Hope this helps!

Since you synced your ipod with another computer, you may have to restore back to its factory settings so it will work with your computer.

I have a new computer and dont want to lose all my songs currently on my Ipod

probably not but you can look here, it is a free download and will enable you to export your ipod data into itunes, so you will not lose it. Then you can sync your ipod again once you have refreshed your library with new songs that you want
