I'd left the camera unused for over a year...then came to use it, installed new fully charged-up NiMh batteries, but no response at all from the camera.
I found a small black plastic clip inside the battery compartment, close to the opening. It ended up being some kind of reset switch. I depressed this for about five seconds, then installed the batteries and the camera came back to life, as it used to.

hi! there is something wrong with your camera lens or the parts around the lens like the bayonet or flex cable. so it is better replace them or send to some professionally maintance center such as www.skiliwah.cn/ http://www.digitalcamera-parts.net/
If the camera has recently been dropped you may have lens damage that's
preventing it from powering up. If it hasn't been dropped your
may be due to weak/worn out batteries
or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera - which can
prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera.
Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and
wipe the camera contacts firmly with
a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush,
steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into
the battery compartment during cleaning, then clean both ends of
the batteries, place them back in the camera and give them a full

Hi Sandra, Try power reset for your camera. Turn the camera on, and without turning the camera off, open the battery door and take the batteries out. Leave it for a minute or two. This helps camera get reset and helps correct the basic functionality and also zoom error. Hope it helps u otherwise u will have to take it to authorised repair center. Good Luck.
Try take battery off camera while operating recording mode, amd put it back without turning off camera. I really do not know why this happend, but this solved my Canon mvx330i "by it self zooming" problem. try turn on digital zoom in meny and take of battery...
I'm having the same problem with mine. Happens on rechargeables or brand new standard batteries as well. Very frustrating. I can't take more than 2 videos in a row without the dreaded orange/green lights flashing (low battery warning). Leaving it for 10-20 minutes and it works again, with the battery charge showing full.
