SOURCE: MY ROPER DRYER QUIT HEATING STILLS WORKS NO HEAT

The thermal cut-off , which is the small t-stat looking piece located at the top of the element housing ( on vertical mount elements ) or the far front of the element housing ( on horizontal mount elements ) , is usually the cause for no heat .

There are two thermostats that need to be checked for continuity, the thermal cut off and the hi-limit". If found to be bad, they need to be replaced. Here is the kit you need. Here is a video to show you how to check them.

My dryer roper rex4634kq1 is making whining noises what could be the problem?

I would guess it would be the belt that is squeeking or it is a wheel that the drum runs on and its bearings are worn out.

Roper elec dryer starts and runs for 10 sec then stops runnning

Hi

If the dryer is not drying the clothes then you would need to check for the following things-

1. Inspect the fuses and circuit breakers they may have burned out or tripped. Usually, dryer will still tumble but not create heat if a fuse or a circuit breaker is not working.
2. Check for the amp reading at 240 V, it should have reading of 24, 21 and 3 amp (approx.) for 2 lines and neutral respectively.
3. Heating element may have turned or the connection to the element might be loose. Sometimes a shorted circuit element will keep on blowing the fuse or circuit breaker.
4. Motor wiring shorting to ground.

Hope this helps...

Dryer does not get hot enough to dry clothes Roper REX4634KQ1 Electric Dryer

The vent may be stopped up, or the vent hose crimped so the air cannot escape, you can check the air flow at the vent on the outside of the house while the dryer is running.
try cleaning the vent and the lint screen with a vacuum cleaner, you may need to replace the vent hose, this should solve the problem

Hi I have a Roper electric dryer since 2000 never had a problem also had an electric dryer for 6 year before that never had a problem with breaker going off now its been happening frequently, all the...

You will neeed an AMP meter.

Take the face cover off the breaker box.
Very carefully, without touching any wires and frying yourself check the amperage on the wires (one at a time) coming off the breaker to the dryer. (While its running with a load of wet clothes)

If the amp draw is very close to the amp rating of the breaker (IE 30 AMP breaker dryer drawing 28.5 AMPs) then you likely have an issue with the dryer and s the amp draw fluctiates a little it pops the breaker.
Several things can cause this. Motor windings going bad, elements going bad, dryer in need of a thourough cleaning etc.

There could also be a short to ground with one component/switch that is only energised during certain cyles. Keep note of when it trips the breaker. If you notice a pattern, that will help determine the problem.

If none of this applies, and the breaker is just poping randomly without having an amp draw higher than its rating, then you have a bad breaker.

If you have no amp meter. You could try replacing the breaker.(With the same rating, DO NOT go higher unless you want a really big bonfire.)

Most breakers are less than 20 bucks.

Thats an easy job, and if will help you isolate the problem by knowing if it's the dryer or breaker.
Otherwise you must either have a good Volt/OHM/Amp meter to trace down the problem.

Either the heater element is breaking or is loose and getting only 110V instead of 240V.  First I would check the wall outlet with a voltmeter for 240V between Line1 and Line2.  Also check the connections and continuity for the heater element.
