Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Possessed Razr Ok, I bought this phone (razr v3) on-line last week. I charged it immediately before use. It doesn't hold a charge very well so I tried a different charger (same model as the charger sent with the phone.) BUT NOW out of the blue this thing is setting its own volume. From across the room I hear bleep bleep bleepbleep... I look at the phone and it is as if some unseen hand is pushing the volume button over and over.. Then the bottons don't work, not even the on/off botton. I took the battery out and reinstalled it, now it doesn't bleep it just flashes what it is doing to the volume..At this moment it set itself to vibrate.. I KID YOU NOT!!! I know this sounds weird but its true. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. Otherwise I think I will just send it back.. Thanks

Re: Possessed Razr

No my friend that does not sound weird the phone software is just need to have the phone firmware reflash to the original version.....that will correct the issues....or if you wish you can return the phone and have them replaced it.

My razr v3 died yesterday. tried all night charging, still dead. no juice to turn on. bought 2 years ago, worth new battery?

Well... I would say no.. Not worth battery.. I had the same thing happen to me where my phone wouldn't charge and we bought a new battery for $50.00 and then we find out my phone is shot.. so I would strongly recommend getting a new phone..

RAZR V3 - New battery w/full charge drains in 1hr of standby

take out a battery and check if there is any red paper dots on the back of the phone. If you do have a dot that is at least partially red, that means that your phone got wet and it can not be fixed.

Razor battrey

Did the phone show it was charging on the display? Was the charger firmly connected to the phone? The batteries will go bad after a period of time of recharge cycles. I have bought replacement batteries for my RAZR on eBay. Remove the battery and do a search on eBay for a NEW battery from a dealer using the battery P/N on the battery. I found a higher capacity battery for mine that lasts even longer on a charge than the original one that came with my RAZR. You can do a search on eBay for "RAZR battery". Look at the mAH rating on your battey, Try finding a replacement with the same or higher rating than your original. The higher the mAH rating, the longer it will last between recharge cycles.

Good luck!

Charging new phone

it wont harm your phone they just recomend 24 hours to make sure the bat is ok and that it gets fully charged but remember to let your bat go totally flat from time to time this will prolong the life of your battery as it does them no good just keep topping it up so i sugest to let it go totally flat say once a month this will keep your battery lasting longer between charge hope this helps

Wont hold a charge

Make sure you blue tooth is off. Also if you on the mobile internet, play your songs alot or have your screen brightness or screen saver or brightness on or up too high it will drain the battry also make sure something isn't on that should be off.

USB Cable and charging problems

Try checking the usb cable. Some usb cables aren't made so you can charge your phone. Believe it or not but usually the cheaper cables are the ones that work for charging my motorola razr v3 phone. If that doesn't work, check to see if you didn't mess up the interface when you plugged into the phone.
