It should have appeared under 'Multimedia.'
I checked the Belarc output for several customer and out own units and each reported the maker of the Sound/multimedia chip.

AC 97 sound card chip was made by Realtek. You can download the device driver from the website below. Just pick your operating system.
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#AC
The driver should work as long as you are using AC97 sound chip even for other motherboard brands using this chip.

In my pc there is problem in C-media AC97 Audio device so how can i solve it

AC97 type sound cards have several different drivers depending on the type of sound card and manufacturer. The easiest way to solve that is to know what chipset your board has, if it is Intel or Via and what the chip number is, then look for and AC97 driver for that specific chipset. Then it will work properly.

This link may contain the correct C-media AC97 drivers: http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/cmedia-9738.html

Formatted system no audio

yup probably killed off your sound drivers

try googling for a program called 'cpuz' - it's free and when you run it, it will tell you your system spec.

Take note of your mobo serial and type, then google again to find out what sound chip it uses....most common is called a Realtek AC97 chipset....try searching 'reatek AC97' drivers.

Good luck :)

Sound card is not running

From what I can tell you should be able to use the generic AC97 drivers available from Realtek. If the linked driver doesn't do the trick download the HD AC97 drivers and give those a try.

Post your results back here, especially if you are still in need of assistance or if you run into errors during the install.
