Question about GE Cordless Phone 900 MHz

Open Question

No dial tone on a 900 Mhz cordless (SPP-930)

I bought a Sony 900 Mhz cordless phone (model SPP-930) years ago that's served me well until recently. When I now hit the talk button nothing happens. When the phone is back in the base station the "in use" light flashes. I'm wondering if it just needs a new battery. If so, I'll gladly buy one. But (obviously) I don't want to spend money on a new battery if it won't solve the problem.

Thanks for the help!

Lisa, If the 900MHZ phone is Model 26928M programming for rotary dial usually goes like below, can't hurt to try on any model. TONE/PULSE DIALING This adjustment allows you to select tone (touch-tone) or pulse (rotary) mode dialing. The phone is pre-set for touch-tone use. To set to tone or pulse dialing: 1. Press and hold the program button for two seconds. You will hear a beep. 2. Press the *tone button to select Tone Dialing or press #pause to select Pulse Dialing. 3. Press the program button again. SOURCE: AT&T 900 MHZ CORDLESS PHONE #9350

AT&T discontinued production of this phone on Sept 4, 1999.

This website lists manuals for AT&T cordless phones but the #9350 does not seem to be listed.

Infact I cannot seem to find any manual pre 1/1/2001, but if you do find one please let me know, my grandma wants a copy of the manual.

How do I turn down the ringer volume.

For the base station set the ringer switch on the base from high to low. To turn it off select off. You can find that switch on the panel where the phone plugs into the wall on the far left.

The handset is adjusted the same way on the leftside as you are looking at the phone.

My Sony SPP-930 cordless phone is about 15 years old. Just recently it stopped working. The base lights work fine but when I lift the handset off the base and press TALK, all I get is 4 beeps. I bought a...

The problem is in the main base, the cordless phone is unable to communicate with the base because it has stopped working that is why you are getting the four beeps. It is more cost effective to replace the complete phone system than repair. The only other possibility "and it is long short" unplug the power and the phone line cord from the wall and let it sit at least 30 minutes, this might reset the processor ic and get your system working again.
