Thats really easy just need to fallow the instructions of the operation systems CD that you need to find. also you are going to need, serial number of it, also you will need to be sure if you have in first position you CD or DVD ROM, so the computer can read it before getting in the Hard-disk. also you are going to need the drivers of the PC.

No power supply to Ready, Data, Attention indicators but power supply is there for the small display on the control panel

So did the engine test work? If so and the screen is blank then most likely the formatter has failed. Remove any memory that is installed on the formatter and see what happens. If it starts properly you have bad memory. Reinstall each memory until the error returns and you know which is bad. If you have a network card installed on the formatter remove that as well.

HP 6210 has all new cartridges (twice) and aligns cartridges, but then prints blank pages. What's its problem?

Hello jtfehr28,

Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!

To answer your question; your problem is the Formatter Board. This board is what controls all incoming/printable data to the printer.
I have located the replacement part for you, and listed the link below.

Formatter Board

Be aware that this is a $95.00 part. You could just as easily replace the entire unit for a little more/less.

Have a great day!

My machine is powered up but the screne does not have anything displayed. All the lights (ready, data, attention) are lit up.

The last time I ran into this problem it was a faulty formatter. Your first step is to remove the formatter and reseat any memory dimms or cards on the formatter. Always power off printer and unplug before removing/installing the formatter. If pirnter does not start after reseating memory, unplug printer again and remove formatter and start printer without formatter installed. Once you have powered up the printer, look for a small hole on the back of the printer, Upper left side if you are infront of printer, right side if you are facing the back. Use small object like paper clip to push the button which will generate an engine test. If it prints, then the formatter is most likely bad, but firmware on formatter may also be corrupt.

49, 4c02 error in hp 4250

This is what the result for that error code is:-
A critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on the formatter to abort the operation. This type of error can be caused by invalid print commands, corrupt data, or invalid operations. In some instances, electrical noise in the cable can corrupt data during transmission to the printer. Other causes include poor quality parallel cables, poor connections, or specific software programs. Remove all EIO devices and firmware DIMM if installed. Restart printer. If error is gone replace each EIO device until error appears. Replace device which triggers error. May also be formatter.
Firmware updates are available for some machines at and clicking on the drivers and software tab. Also try printing from a different application. If that works go back to the first application and try printing a different file to determine if the problem is file related. You may need to reseat the memory DIMM's or replace the firmware DIMM or formatter board.

HP4550 - 49.00FF service error

Turn off the RAM disk on the printer.

Follow these steps:

Troubleshooting steps

Verify that the formatter light is blinking or steady. If the formatter is blinking, it is functioning properly and probably does not need to be replaced. If the formatter light is not blinking, proceed to Step 2.
Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the HP Jetdirect card, third-party device, hard disk, parallel cable, or IFR cable from the formatter if one is installed.
If the error continues with accessories removed from the formatter, perform a cold reset on the printer. Ensure the HP Jetdirect card is not in the printer during a cold reset or the card settings will be changed back to default settings. To perform a cold reset, do the following:
Turn on the printer.
Watch the control panel.
When the memory starts counting, press and hold the green (Select ) button.
Continue holding the green check button until the Ready, Data, and Attention lights flash once, and then stay on steady.
Release the check button when the Ready, Data, and Attention light are on steady.
The control panel will display SELECT LANGUAGE .
Press (Down Arrow ) button once. The control panel will display COLD RESET
Press (Select ). The printer will perform a cold reset and then continue its power-on sequence.
If the printer comes up to ready, print a Configuration page. If a 49 error occurs from printing internal pages, continue on to the next step.
Turn the printer off and unplug the power cord.
Remove the eight screws around the formatter.
Remove the formatter. See Figure 1.
Reseat the firmware and memory modules on the formatter. Check for any DIMMs that are non-HP and remove them. Non-HP DIMMs are not supported by HP and may cause this error. Replace with HP DIMMs, if necessary.
Reseat the daughter (interconnect) board. The daughter board is connected to the formatter behind EIO slot #1. To release the daughter board, push in the black retaining tab underneath the formatter then lift up the one side of the daughter board.
Reseat the daughter board.

Install the formatter.
Turn the printer on again.
If it comes up to READY , print a configuration page. If a 49 error does not appear from printing internal pages, or at power up, continue to the next step.

Install the HP Jetdirect card and hard disk before installing the formatter. Verify that each device is properly seated.
Test any EIO devices, by turning off the printer, installing each device separately, and printing a Configuration page. Repeat for each EIO device.
If the 49 error occurs with any EIO device installed, replace that EIO device.

Ready, data, attention all on, screen lit but no data

The P3005 is known to have problems with a chip on the formatter, gives various errors to include the 49.2d9d, blank display and others. HP has not issued a recall or service advisory but is fully aware of failure of the chip on the formatter. Repair for this is to print a configuration page, replace the formatter board, bring the machine back up in service mode and put in the correct serial, service code and page counts into the new formatter's nvram memory.

Liberty Parts Team at has refurbished formatters at reasonable pricing with no return core to worry about. The PIN needed to access the service mode is 10300506.

Other problems with the P3005 are grinding in the fuser area, correctable by removal of the fuser, replacement of the 4 accessable gears in the side (left as you look into the back) and the main gear on the fuser then put the fuser back in and should be good.

Service manual available for free at - down the left navigation bar near the bottom is an icon and link to service manuals in PDF. No need to make someone on ebay rich selling copyrighted pdfs.
