A long time ago, a movie was made about a car that had a mind of it's own. I knew it wouldn't be long before they made one about a cell phone.

In all seriousness, some cell phones just tend to be more problematic than others. Rarely does repairing them help - just chasing good money after bad.

If you want to rid yourself of the frustration of owning such a phone, send yours to Hollywood with a good movie script and enjoy yourself by going out and purchasing a new phone. You'll feel so much better after you do so.

Intermittent clicking sound

This is a fairly common problem on the '04 Grand Am.  I recently fixed the problem on mine.  The problem is in the contacts inside the multifunction switch which is comprised of the turn signal lever and windshield wiper level.  If you remove the plastic covering around the stearing wheel (simple just a few hex head screws) you can see the multifunction switch directly ontop of the steering column.  Remove the screw holding it in place and disconnect the several wires in the back.  The whole unit will come right out, you can take in your house and fix the rest.  If you open it up - there several screws required to do this - you will see copper contacts where the turn signal lever touches to indicate its position (left right or off).  Clean this off well with a damp paper towel to remove the grease and reapply some dielectric grease to the contacts.  Put everything back together and you should be click-free!  The problem seems to be that over time the contacts wear down and arching can occur between the contacts, thus confusing your turn signal clicker and allowing it to click at random times.  Cleaning it out gets rid of any metal fragments in the grease and the new grease will act to prevent the arching.
