I don't know that particular model but for many HP notebooks there are two screws in the bottom (sometimes one of them is inside the memory compartment). The relevant screws generally have a small image beside them that represents the keyboard. On the keyboard itself, you might find 4 sliding catches located between the function keys. These need to be slid towards the spacbar and the keyboard should then lift from the top.

    Hi

My original answer was only partly correct. For the correct method, get the service manual herehttp://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs... The keyboard removal instructions begin on page 40.

A word of warning. If you've not done this type of work before, be very careful how you disconnect the ribbon cables because the ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connectors are easily broken. in order to achieve "Zero Insertion Force", the latch which forms the edge of the connector needs to be opened by about 1mm. You can do this by GENTLY moving each end with a very small flat bladed screwdriver. When you replace the cables, you might have to keep the latch open as you insert the cable, because sometimes these connectors try to close as you're pushing the cable in. When the cable is fully inserted, press the ends of the latch back to their original locked position with the screwdriver.

    Cheers

Seems this is a common problem to this model which the folks in the above HP forum are having. It seems to be a problem related to the Nvidia display adapters soldered connections to the motherboard

The poster smileygecko appears to have a solution but once you read it, you'll see its not for the faint-hearted.

I'm currently fixing the same problem for a friend and if I make any progress I'll let you know.

Otherwise if you're lucky enough to have any warranty left, take advantage of it!!

I have a hp g6000 power coes on but screen is

1. If you have it plugged to a power adapter it could be that the AC adapter is not charging the battery.
2. Try removing the battery with the AC adapter plug in and see if the PC will. if so then you may need a new battery.
3. You will need to get new AC adapter and battery frome the manufacturer or authorized dealer. Third party device are not recommended because they usually are not up to specifications.
I hope this helps.

With the low pricing on wireless keyboards and mice nowadays, especially Black Friday sales, you'd be better off buying a better keyboard and mouse for a good deal. Usually when a few keys begin to give you problems it is the sign of the beginning of the end.

G6000 hen pressing keyboard letter it type 4

Hi there

Does this happen with almost every key, or only certain keys? And if you press a key very quickly, does it still register it as 4 presses?

Also, please confirm the operating system on the laptop, such as XP or Vista.

Please do not rate this solution unless I have answered your question or your reply will not be returned to me. Thanks.
