How do I replace the C232 capacitor on DRC8300N

How do I replace the C232 capacitor on an RCA DRC8300N dvd/vcr combo? I've seen this as a solution here, but don't even know what it is or how to do it. I tried emailed the guy with the posted solution, but no reply. Thanks!

I posted a solution Dec 4 '09. The C232 cap # is written on the board .Heat up the 2 solder connections below it and PULL the cap out.Reverse the procedure to install new one. (it is black/blue,round, an inch long with a silver top).
Good luck

I just got a new TV and when I hooked up our DVD Vcr combo it would not play the DVD. The standby button is on

The machine has a power supply problem, usually a filter capacitor that is open causes the issue. But just to check, unhook the cords from the new tv, now turn on the dvd/vcr combo to see if it will power up, if it does please let me know, if there is no change you will need a shop technician to check it.

I need a manual for this product. Any chance I can download one? RCA DRC8300N DVD Recorder / VCR Combo

I see RCA no longer has any manuals for that unit. But, is this the exact model number? I mean like I have an RCA DRC8335 VCR/DVD recorder, so I am wondering if it is similar? If so I could work out something for you. Email me at jmsekola@citizens-tel.net if you think I can help with my manual.

RCA VHS/DVD recorder/player Model DRC832ON does not power up. It is plugged in to the home AC receptacle and was working fine, then for no apparent reason would no longer turn on.

Replace the C232 capacitor on the power supply board. It is about an inch high and black/blue with a silver top.

This solution was also posted on Dec. 4.

Will not come on

RCA DRC8320N DVD Recorder/VCR

Symptoms:

Seems to have no power, no lights on front lit, if listened to closely one may hear a "click click click" sound.

Solution: Replace C232 on power supply board.

Additional technical info:

In this design, the switching power supply feedback is from the 5 volt standby rail only, which is odd. The problem is caused when C232, the first filter capacitor in this rail and the sampling point for the feedback circuit, opens. The clicking sound is transformer rattle as the power supply restarts repeatedly.
