Insure that the power plug in back of your computer is firmly pushed in. if that fails look in back of your computer you will see a little orange or red switch .
it will read 115 when you click it to the side or down it will read 220 or 230. click it to 220 and boot computer. if computer comes on click it back to 115 then reboot . let me know if this resolves the problem. if not i will assist further.

Defragmenting your computer does not remove files. It simply "cleans up" your files by reorganizing file "fragments" made by your computer. You should be able to simply delete files without an issue by moving them to your trash, or if its a program by unistalling through "add/remove programs"

How Do I Increase My Speed

there are a few ways to increase the system performance, here's some:
1: remove any programs you don't use, this reduces the disk access time increasing performance
2:remove any toolbars or PuPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) as these also take up disk space
3: Defragment your hard disk, think of the data stored on the disk as a messy room, the defrag tool included with yourOS will clean up and organize this mess to make the system more efficient and disk access will be significantly reduced
4:Clean up the disk, there is a nifty little tool included with your OS called disk cleanup, this will remove temporary and unused files and gets rid of things that you and the system no longer need and frees disk space, decreasing the disk access and seek timings will shorten
and the big one...5: Buy an SSD, this is a super fast disk that originates from the usb pendrive, it's faster, more energy efficient, and can store data without the need to defragment, this is an expensive way to speed up your PC, but by golly is iit worth it!!

Have a DDR583R with E-1 flashing blue, did not D-Humidify. Took unit to repair shop, 4 days later they called an said unit working fine, no repairs needed, cost 20.00. Came home, plugged unit in, works but...

If you're operating in area that where the ambient air temperature is between 40 & 60 degrees F. Like in a basement, where the air temp at floor level is cooler than at shoulder level, this could cause that reading. As dehumidifiers, unless they are Low temp models, will respond that way. Raising the unit up of the floor on to a sturdy table, counter top etc, that can handle the weight of the unit, plus a full bucket of water, will generally solve that problem.

If the unit, in all other facets is working as it should, do worry about it. If a sensor had gone bad and wasn't replaced, the unit wouldn't function at all. Also, keep in mind, that the repair shop's environment was different than yours.

I need to know how to change the extensions on the phones. Everyone in my office has moved rooms and we keep dialing their old extensions and since they are in a different room now, it goes to the old...

You can move them mechanically or electronically. If you have access to manager's programming, the extensions can be changed in system program 003 and 004, but it will screw up the mechanical order of the phones. An extra hint, the open extensions you can use for temporary numbers are 100,200,169 to maybe 182 and 269 to maybe 282. The concept is if you want to change 103 to 105 you make change 103 to 100 105 to 103 and then 100 to 105. Keep close track of who belongs to what because you're going to need it later. In hardware, the installer would just run new jumpers at the frame and he wouldn't have to change names in 004 like you're going to have to.

Just seems to take forever to get it to move

A couple of suggestions: First, defragment your hard disk. In Windows XP, open the start menu, open Accessories and find the Disk Defragmenter. Under Vista and 7, just use the search tool. Run a defragment. This will make it easier for the computer to load files by putting them closer together.
Also, try removing any program you don't use anymore from your computer and close applications when you're not using them.
One last thing: if your computer is older than a few years, it may just be time to upgrade it. Consider upgrading your RAM, Processor, or simply buying a new computer if the defragmentation, cleanup, and closing has no impact.

Have you run out of room for the virtual memory to use?
Run an anti virus programme as that could be a cause also run defrag regularly.
Have you got the latest Windows updates, you will not be able to get them unless you have installed Service Pack 3.
Hope that helps.

How do I clear a bunch of space

Go to the Control panel, click add/remove programs. Remove programs that you do not want or use.

download Index.dat analyzer, install and run it:

http://www.systenance.com/indexdat.php

After you remove the programs and ran Index.dat Analyzer, you need to defrag the hard drive:

How to use the Windows Defrag tool:

  • To start Windows Defrag, double click on the "My Computer" or "Computer" Icon on Desktop or in Start Menu.

  • Next Right click on the "C:" drive (Or the drive you wish to Defrag) and select properties from the list that appears...

  • From the next menu select "Tools" and then "Defragment Now"

  • The Disk Defragmenter screen will now appear, Click on Analyze. This will check your drives and will only take a few seconds. If your result shows a lot of red like mine (see picture below) then click on "Defragment" to continue) Be warned this may take several hours, so don't run it, if you are going to need the computer in a rush. Some people tend to run it over night or before they go to work.

  • Once completed, shut down and use your computer everything should be that bit smoother.

My computer is extreamly slow. I click on a desktop icon and then wait and wait for it to respond. My computer is a Dell Inspiron laptop running Windows XP

Do a Disk Cleanup and a Defrag of the hard drive to get all the TMP files and Cookies out of the system. You find these under the Accessories tab in XP and then go to System Tools. Then you need to clean the Registry with a registry cleaner. Here is a good free one I use all the time.http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner. Today with all the surfing on the Web you get massive amounts of clutter and weekly need to do the above steps to keep the system clean. Phil Let me know if I can help you more. pmgibs1@verizon.net
