Try downloading the Playon app from the android marketplace and on your computer. Some tv stations have live broadcasts you are able to view through your 3g or wireless phone connection to your computer. www.playon.tv/playon has detailed instructions.

Dont have a wireless card on one of my desk tops can i get the net with a usb stick

You can install a PCI wireless card in the desktop computer or you can use an USB wireless device. Both of these devices can connect to your wireless router, but they need to be configured with the router's wireless settings.
If you do not have a wireless router, then you can get an USB wireless modem device that connects to the Internet that uses the 3G mobile network. The advantage of this, you can connect to the Internet anywhere you get mobile coverage with that Internet Service provider.

I am trying to connect a slingbox to my home network, but my network cant find the slingbox, do you have any ideas?

Depends on how the Slingbox is configured. It should be set up to use DHCP and try to get an IP from your router, either by wireless or by hardwired ethernet.

I would help if you could details how your network is configured.

Cheers,
Ripface.

Cannot connect remotly to the slingbox

Hi! I will be more than glad to assist you in this concern. please check this first at your sisters house..
If you are at home of your sister and are not seeing your Slingbox in the SlingPlayer Slingbox Directory, one of two things are going on:

1. The Slingbox is not properly connecting to your router.
2. You have security software on your computer preventing it from talking to the Slingbox.
3. The network connection to your Slingbox is broken.

If the issue is that the Slingbox is not properly connecting to your router, the network light on the front of the Slingbox will either be off or be blinking.

If the network light on the front of your Slingbox is on, then the issue is probably virus or firewall software.

Your Slingbox is all set up, the Network light is on and still you can't find it in your Slingbox Directory in SlingPlayer.

Most of the time if you are at home and in this situation, the problem can be narrowed down to one of the following:

* Your router or router configuration has changed since you plugged in your Slingbox.
* Security software on your computer is preventing your Slingbox from communicating with your computer.
* You've more than one router on your home network.
* You've accidentally connected your computer to your neighbor's wireless network.

If you are using a router on the home network, routers have a built in firewall and in this case. The Slingbox uses port 5001 when it communicates with your router, so this port needs to be open for your Slingbox to send video outside of your network.

please feel free to get in touch if u have any question..

New internet provider and now can not use remote viewing

If you have changed Internet Providers (which I assume you have considering you refer to changing from DSL to Cable modem), your "location" on the Internet has also changed.

Try going through the setup process with your Slingbox again as if it were the first time you had installed it.

I CAN NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET ..using Linksy wireless remote

the wireless card installed to your computer is working..as you said you can view all wireless networks...your computer is good too...the only issue is you cant connect to the wireless router...

turn off and unplug the power cable of the Modem
turn off and unplug the power cable the router

wait for 30 seconds
plug in and turn on the modem, wait for all the light turn to solid green ( no blinking lights )

then power on the router

if you saw the wireless icon light turn solid...

go to your computer...right click the wireless icon...select repair

if this doesnt work....reset your internet router by press and hold the reset button behind the router near the power plug (atleast 15 sec)

then connect your PC..the wireless network dont have the WEP key anymore because of the reset..you can reconfigure and put back the WEP key when you get connected.

Wireless router

My suggestion would be to first disable any encryption on the router to make your wireless network simple first to try and troubleshoot these problems. check if any MAC or IP Address filters are active on the wireless router, you can either enter the IP address of the slingbox wireless adapter or its MAC address if you HAVE enable filtering, but again, try diagnosing without filtering or encryption enabled. Also ensure your slingbox wireless adapter has its settings set to 'automatically assign IP address (enable DHCP)' so it gets its address automatically.
