Just got our new LG front load washer. We've never had one before, should I be able to see the water level rising, like at the laundmat or does the water level stay low? I know it's a silly question, but hey...I'm kinda silly.

Re: Water level for a front load LG washer?
You're not silly. You could hv said which country you are from..... The water level is usually low, except when the rinsing takes place, when it comes to about half at the glass window. Make sure you turn on the faucet on the wall full when you operate the machine; you can close faucet after wash. (dont forget to open when u begin next wash!!)

Generally speaking grass clipping etc will stay in tub on a hi efficiency washer. That's why the water level is very low also-high efficiency, low water use. Most LG washers have an extra water button to add a small level of water per wash.
Make about 3 quarts of boiling water on the stove. Pour one cup of bleach, and a few capfuls of pine sol into the washer (just pour them directly into the washer through the front door.) Now, if you have a faucet near the washer, turn on the hot water until the water is hot- then turn it off.
Now start a "hot" load, and after the water starts to fill, pause it, and add the really hot stove water. This will raise the water level high enough to wash off all the gunk that has built up between the spinning inner barrel of the washer and the outer barrel in which it sits.
For future reference... only use HE detergent, never use liquid fabric softener, always take the clothes out as soon as possible after the load is finished, and leave the door open when you are done.
The water level is very low on front load machines. (Below the bottom of the door) While the washer is running, push and hold the "spin speed" and "soil level" buttons at the time. Display should be between 230 and 255.(normal) If you do this while the machine is filling, you will see the numbers change. This machine only uses about 12 gallons of water for an entire cycle, vs. about 45 for some top loading machines. THIS IS NORMAL ! The machine will adjust the amount of water based on the type and volume of clothes in your washer. On a large load, you will see wet clothes, but no water sloshing around. PS. Because the machine uses so little water, make sure you use only one tablespoon of HE detergent (and only one teaspoon of fabric softner if you use it). This is very important.

The model you have this listed under WM2688H (LG Steam Washer) a E1 Code
Correct water level (246) is not reached within 8 minutes
after water is supplied or it does not reach the preset water
level within 25 minutes.
I suggest you
Check the screens in the water inlet valve for blockage
FE means water is overflowing. Check pump filter. Check water level switch and hose. Also check that drain hose isn't too low causing it to refill itself continuously. In any case the drain pump should run for 4 minutes to try and eliminate the extra fill
