Question about Hoover F6020-900 SteamVac Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

No suction When I turn the vac on it sounds ok but there is no suction and the brushes don't turn. Alot of air does come out of the two exhaust vents and the brushes will turn manually.

Re: no suction

Hey, how are you ?

here are a ew things that could be causing you sorrow

1.) Check your vacume to ensure that it isnt clogged anywhere

2.) before your compressor and after the filer, this part is where the suction takes place, check to see that it isnt clogged or that it isnt broken...

3.) check your packing (diapharam) in the vacume oto see if it ruptured(has a hole or broken)

4.) Check for lears on the vacume, basically run a pice of paper all over it and see if it is pulled to the vacume.

Once air is coming out the back, it means the compressor is working, but it alos means that the vacume is clogged, or a compartment that is u\supposed to be sealed is broken, or it has a leak somewhere..

My bet is that it is clogged somewhere, take it apart you will find it..

Vac has suction but no air exhaust

If it has suction it has to be exhausting the air. Filters should be replaced at least once a year.

How do I get reverse suction with the electrolux epic 6000?

I have no idea just what reverse suction would be or how to get it from ANY vac. If you're looking at getting the blowing air from the vac instead of suction, then simply move the hose from the suction end to the exhaust end.

Loss of suction power & exhaust coming out of vents beneath exhaust port w/ barely/if any air pressure out of port itsef.

You should find your user manual, look up the phone number for Shop Vac's customer service and call them. They will be very helpful and with the unit being no older than that, it should still be in warranty. They will probably have you send it back and will possibly just send you a whole new unit.

Beater brush is good, vacuum running no suction

this sounds like your vacs dust passage from the rotary brush to bag is blocked ? you can diy this if you turn vac over to show the brush and covering cover you will see cover is held by some screw/bolts ? remove these and cover then the brush assy is slotted in place either side on bush/bearings and the drive belt is around the brush memorise how it fits! then gently/carefully lift brush out the belt will create spring action once brush removed you will see where the dust travels thro an arpeture on the belt side of vac this usually is where blockage is clear it out and any other within the area of brush then reassemble and check vac

No suction but good exhaust flow

This sounds like you have a loose pipe connection somewhere in your system. Physically check all connections. If you can't find anything suspicious, call a vac repair man that specialies in central vac repair. Joe

No suction - air blowing OUT from tube

Is the air blowing out of the pick-up tube or out of the exhaust tube on the unit? I am assuming the pick-up tube. The installer has hooked your system up to the exhaust tube on the unit. Hook up to the intake on the unit instead.

Hoover Steam Vac - Brushes not turned, no suction power

The Brushes not spinning is most likely is caused by seized bearings in the turbine, requiring shop service (easy fix). The suction issue can be caused by the standpipe seal missing or lower recovery tank not on properly, on some models missing front panel. I would need more exact model info to assist further.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The Beam Central Vac may have more than a one year factory warranty and it sounds to me that you may have a bad relay switch the Central Vac, if you do it should be covered under the factory warranty. Otherwise, you may have a bad supervalves or a wire came loose, if the hose switch turns on the power nozzle then it may be a bad supervalve or a bad relay and to contact the installer or the manufacturer of Beam. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. Not cleaning as good as it used to

This vac. has alot of removeable covers, make sure that none has a clog and also that they are reinstalled correctly leaving no gaps. Does air blow thru the filter? Even after cleaning, if air can't pass thru, then they will restrict suction. Also is the brush roll turning, if not, then it would seem like there is not enough suction.
