Samsung HC-P4752w CRT picture problem/alignment issue?

I have a HC-P4752W that powers on, but has the following on the picture:

From the center-
on the right, an vertical half semi circle in blue no more than 2" from center
in the direct center something grey that almost looks like a battery, vertically as well
on the left, a red line
ther also is a an red and green icon moving from various spots/positions (screensaver?)

all of these lines/ circle run the vertical length on the screen. the rest of the screen in black.

I don't think that this is a convergence issue, but I could be wrong. Is it a bad set of RGB CRT's?

Any and all help would be appreciated as I am deciding whether to fix this TV or get something totally new; is the repair financially feasible?

Thanks in Advance.

The lines that move are the from the auto self focus on the tv. I have the same model. go to menu and then setup and you can turn the self focus off. The only problem I have with mine, is after the tv is on for about twenty minutes, the convergience is misaligned on the left and right sides of the screen, I am currently trying to figure out how to fix it.

I need the outer screen for my Samsung HC-P4752W. Mine has a red line that seems burnt into it. Where can I get one?

It sounds like the RED CRT is cracked which will cause a red line. You can verify by looking into the lens of the Red CRT with a flasnlight if you see a line the CRT needs replacement. If no line then chances are the Convergence IC may have a problem.

You will probably need to replace ALL of the CRT's and do a Full Convergence Alignment by a very experienced tech. Never replace only CRT as it will be brighter than the other two CRT's.

I have a samsung hc-p4752w and I'd like to find out where I can get an inexpensive blue picture tube.

The blue tube will cost $150-$200 from a Samsung parts distributor. Keep watching Ebay. Did you change the coolant by any chance? The coolant fogs really bad on the blue tube on this model and it looks like a bad CRT.

I think you have a fault on the chroma board and on the picture frame board. If you can trace it yourself try these two locations otherwise call out a competant technician. hope this helps.

Convergence issues

if youre having convergence issues with your samsung HC-P4752W you need to replace both convergence ICs numbers STK392-010 they are available at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions with pics so you can do the repair your self and they also give free tech support in case you need extra help. Its an easy repair takes about an hour from start to finish, Changing the convergence board wont help as the Convergence ICs are located on the sub deflection board and thats about 400 to replace the board compared to 50 to replace the ICs. Heres the link.

Samsung HC-P4752W rear projection television We

the convergance amps have failed you need to have them replaced there are 2 of them and some resistors may be affected. the cost of this repair can reach $350.00 depending on the tech you get. this is the most common failure in rear projection TVs. the convergance amps work very hard and are bound to fail. they also have very large heat sinks to keep them cool. heat is the biggest enemy of transistorized ICs.
