Question about Canon VIXIA HV30 DV Camcorder
That is a mechanical problem. the final part of the lens is held by a metal ring, this must be removed to fix the lens protective curtain behind (the one composed of two kind of S edge Shaped plastic parts.
Sometimes I managed to fix them using a toothpick, without disassembling, but in this way there is risk to cause more damage, and depending on the problem, you may not be able to fix it.
The job is a simple repair, a good alternative is finding a local repair shop that can do it, or calling Canon at the number listed on the user manual to get a quote on repair.
