2001 KIRBY LIMITED EDITION

WONT TURN ON

I was vacuuming up bird seed and all of the sudden the vacuum just turned off. I tried to start it again and it seemed like the vaccum had been unplugged. I checked out the plug, the vacuum bag, the hose connector, and the vacuum would not turn back on.

I have torn my file cabinet apart, and cannot locate my manual for my Kirby 2001 Limited Edition. I am trying to replace the belt, and need the manual in order to do so.

Kirby models are all very similar. The only manual I've been able to locate is for the G6. You can download or print it from the below link.
http://ubermanuals.com/search/contentsearch/kirby

Or check the belt change video at the following site. I recommend making this site a favorite for easy access to these videos.

Axle bracket problem

You can find parts HERE. I do not think you need new "Ratchet Lock Assm." unles yu lost it (I have never seen one broken). Make sure you have the Spring and lubricate it well (do not use liquid lubricants as they will leak on the carpet).

God Luck

Unclogging drains?

Hi!
You need to take the power nozzle off and attach the thing that looks like a little plastic cup with two hooks on it. This is the intake guard. Attach it to the front. Now remove the cloth bag and put the hose on the hole where the bag was. You'll have to line the arrow on the hose up with the notch on the Kirby and push the hose arm toward the Kirby until it pops on. If you need to, lube up the edges of the hole with a wee bit of vaseline or hand lotion. This makes the hose engage easier. Now, turn your massage cup (in your basic set of attachments inside out and hold it on the drain hole. If there is an overflow hole in the sink, you may want to cover it so that you won't be splattered with gunk. lol Now, turn the Kirby on and it will attempt to blow the clog on through the pipe. Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. :0) Hope this helps...

Replacing brush roller on my KIrby g6 limited edition

You need a new belt. When the green light goes out, that means your brushroll has stopped spinning. Here's how to change it....

Even if you just replaced the belt, this guide will help you make sure that you got the brushroll back in the right way.

Hope it helps....
