first grinding wheel > flange> safety cap > 4 screws >remove axis with drive shaft crown wheel > then 4 screws remove front with the armature if you must replace cone wheel and crown wheel. remove first the carbon brushes before take the armature out.
If you have a vice, soft jaws , are placed on an outside bearing racing fit to be held. A Brass hammer or drift pin may be used to strike the armature without damage to move the bearing for clearance. Another person may be needed to catch the shaft from falling. In the case of a internal bearing care must be observed, however, Sockets that fit in the area make great devices to drift the bearing should there be room to employ the repair process.
Vibrations and excessive play could be caused by one of two or both bearings in the gear housing or the spiral bevel gears. Armature bearings can cause vibrations but usually don't show up as play at the spindle. Also, if the vibration is really bad, you could have several fan blades broke off one side of the armature fan throwing off the balance.
Are you replacing both gears? The armature gear (pinion) is usually held on with a nut or else is pressed on. The spindle gear is also pressed on. Most spindle gears will come as an assembly with the gear and spindle and housing all together.
If yours doesn't, then the spindle will need to be pressed out of the housing, and then the gear pressed off of the spindle. (Always replace the grease as well when replacing gears.)
The gear on the end of the armature is held on by a metric nut. The armature shaft is threaded. The larger gear is press fit onto the shaft. You need a hydrolic press to remove it.
How many wires did you put back together? If that was only two, just reverse the wires. Also in most cases wires are color coded. Green is always ground. White should be your neutral wire, and red or black (possibly blue or yellow) would be the hot wire. Swapping the blue and yellow (if that's what you have will reverse the direction)
Bench grinders are perfect for sharpening cutters, bits, blades and hand tools. Any piece that needs smoothing, shaping, or polishing can be done at the bench grinder. Straight grinders or angle grinders are portable, handheld tools with wheels that range from 4 to 9 inches. They are the best grinders for working on pieces that may be too large to fit at a bench.
