Question about Sony Wireless Controller for PS3

1 Answer

I have two wireless controllers. One will only work if it is connected to the PS3 with the wire. I saw in a comment on here about hitting the recessed button to sync it and that didn't work. While the controller is connected to the PS3 I can hit the PS button on it and the number one lights up but when I unplug it the light goes off and nothing works wirelessly

Hello,

I believe its a battery problem, as the ps3 signals are sent via bluetooth even when the cable is connected. The cable just supplies power. Try and get a new battery or if under warranty return the controller.

Ps3 controls not connecting

If they work wired and not wirelessly then you might have a problem with your wireless access module. Can you access the internet through your PS3?

My ps3 controller wont connect with my ps3

Brian,

If after connecting to the USB it still won't work wireless, the best thing to do is this:

1 - Connect the controller to the PS3, via USB

2 - Click the PS Button to turn on the system

3 - On the XMB screen, click the PS Button again. You'll get the options, to "Turn off the controller". Do that and then turn it on again. It will reconnect with your PS3.

Want to connect non wireless remote controls to console

No this is not true. you can purchase wired controllers for the PS3 usually at a greatly reduced price than the wireless models. Most larger PS3 retailers should have stock of wired control pads so it would pay to do some more ringing around

Hope this has helped

My ps3 will not connect to my wireless internet

Try setting a static ip address on the PS3:-

First you need to find a Windows wired or wireless device already connected to the network in order to find out the required settings

Windows XP
1. Click start --> (sometimes settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections
2. Double click on the active connection which will say connected underneath
3. Click Support
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Windows Vista
1. Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center
2. Click on "View Status" to the right of your connection
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Set these values under "manual settings" in the PS3 but add 1 to the last number for the IP Address as this has to be unique on your network
