Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: profile transfer from old 20gb hard drive to 60gb one

When you turn on your new 360 (the 60 GB one), there will be an option on the dashboard that reads "Recover Gamertag". As long as you are connected to the internet, follow the instructions laid out. Just press A on the recover gamertag option; it will then ask for your gamertag, the e-mail address associated with it, and maybe a few other things. After that is completed, just wait for the switch to occur. It usually takes about 5-15 minutes or so, so just be patient. If you do not have internet access, you will need to purchase a 360 memory card. You can then go to the memory option on the last blade of the xbox 360 dashboard (the purple one to the right) and copy it from there. It will then be on your memory card. Then just do the same process to copy it from the card to the new xbox. You will also need to use the memory card if you plan on copying saved game files.

first give your bad xbox to your mechanic or a professional and when fixed, make a flash drive xbox compatible and then, copy your profile to the flash drive and take your flash drive to the new xbox and paste it in your xbox hard drive.

First of all its not all xbox 360 content thats transferabble between different consoles, secondly even the content that can be transfered might not fit on some of the storage media such as the 256 memory card and lastly points earned in games come with your gamertag or profile, once you have copied your profile you should have your points and achievements copied along with it, to the best of my knowledge all the above is true and it is an understatement to say i am an avid xbox360 gamer, hope this helped..

My xbox 360 not able to recognize my hard drive.

Well here are few solutions:
1. You might have a modded(Flashed) console, which microsofts new fix destroys your profile/HDD/Console, so everything is gone to waste.
2. Replace your HDD, there might be a problem with it
3. Just buy a small Memory instead of a whole HDD to replace.
4. Buy a new 360.

Lost all acheivements both profiles and nothing will save

Hey that sucks. You could try to call 18004MYXBOX if you had LIVE and they may be able to recover your profile also go to the system blade and pick memory Press Y on the hard drive symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices? Hit yes If no sometimes things will actually say corrupted data

New 360

Your old 20 gig will work with your new xbox, the hard drives are compatable no matter how old the 360 is. You can transfer all the stuff but you will have to call xbox and get a transfer kit. Its an adapter so you can attach both hard drives to the same xbox and a disc that runs the program. call 18004MYXBOX and tell them you want one. They are free and you will get it in the mail in around a week.

Just click it loose from the old one and attach it to the new one. Shouldn't be a problem as long as ito's original.
